Garth Brooks Concert Video Brings Out All the Feels

Garth-Brooks-TourIt’s not the first time we’ve said it – country folk are among the most giving and loving in the world, and Garth Brooks helps set the standard for what that looks like. His Teammates for Kids Foundation leverages Brooks’ popularity and money to bring more than 3,300 athletes together in support of charities that help children – and that’s just one of the many things the superstar country singer does with his influence and treasure. But fans who were lucky enough to have Garth Brooks tickets for the April 30 concert in Rochester got to see a very special side of Brooks, and it’s one that brings out all the feels you’d ever want to have. First, some background.

We’ve Got Garth Brooks Concert Tickets—Get Them Here!

Back in November 2014, Brooks was playing a show in Minneapolis when he spotted a woman holding a sign in the audience and brought her – and the sign – up on the big screen. The sign read:

Chemo This Morning … Garth Tonight – Enjoying the Dance

Not surprisingly, Brooks kicked up the band and serenaded her with a rendition of his huge hit, “The Dance,” which talks about living and enjoying life despite the ups and downs and tribulations, but not before bringing Teresa Shaw to the edge of the stage so he could sing directly to her. With the closing chords, he leaned down and kissed her forehead, then stood up and announced to the entire stadium,

“God just stuck his hand out and wrote, “I exist.” You have all my strength, you have everybody’s strength here, and you will kick cancer’s *ss!”

It’s no secret that Brooks is a believing man, but that’s a powerful statement right there – his recognition that God showed him how he and his music affect people, that this woman, going through this trial, came out to see him and held up a sign to let him know how his music inspires her? That right there, that’s faith.

Needless to say, someone caught the moment on video and shared it on Twitter, and the next morning, the whole world was wiping away tears as they watched that tender moment at a Garth Brooks concert.

Fast forward 18 months, and Brooks is back in Minnesota as part of his current world concert tour. Looking out over the audience as he’s singing, what does he see but Teresa Shaw holding up a new sign. The crew focuses in and brings her and her sign up on the big screens so everyone can see and read:

I kicked cancer’s *ss. Still enjoying the Dance.

All the feels, right? But Brooks wasn’t finished yet. He shared the story with the audience, adding that when he woke up the morning after his concert, he realized for the first time the power of social media. “I can’t tell you how many people around the planet were praying for you,” he said. And then, even though he’d just played it not 10 minutes earlier, he swung back into “The Dance,” serenading Teresa Shaw once again, accompanied by the entire audience – and this was a good thing, because more than once, he teared up and just let the audience carry the song for him.

Now, we can’t promise you that you’ll get to share in a moment like that if you buy Garth Brooks concert tickets, but we can guarantee that wherever and whenever Brooks takes the stage, you’ll see one heck of a show, especially as he’s joined on this tour by his wife and love of his life, Trisha Yearwood. Enjoy!
