More than Just a Little Bit Country
Best known as an iconic country singer – “Rolling Stone Country” refers to her as a “petite powerhouse” – McBride broke out with crossover R&B and soul classics on her latest release, “Everlasting,” and proved that she’s a lot more than just a little bit country. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart, making her the first female solo artist to achieve that distinction in the 50-year history of the chart.
Just like the album release, the “Everlasting” live show is not your typical country evening. Martina’s backup band includes trombone, tenor sax, baritone sax and trumpet, as well as three backup singers, and they work together to put her iconic sound on classic hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s.
“I feel like this show really takes the audience on a musical journey,” Martina told interviewers, and what a journey it is. Her voice brings out new sides of such R&B classics as “Wild Night” by Van Morrison and the Supreme’s “Come See About Me.” But that doesn’t mean she neglects her fans. The four-time winner of the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year gives audiences a heaping helping of Martina favorites like “A Broken Wing,” “This One’s for the Girls,” “In My Daughter’s Eyes,” and “Independence Day.”

Her career has spawned 20 Top 10 singles, six #1 hits and lifetime sales of more than 18 million albums.
