Country singer Miranda Lambert has had quite a month, but she isn’t letting the life-changing events keep her from touring the country singing her beloved country songs. In fact, Lambert will continue to tour until October, where she wraps up this tour October 17 in Moline, Illinois. On the 20th of this month, Miranda Lambert, and her husband of four years, Blake Shelton, announced that they had gotten divorced. But typical of a star’s life, Lambert’s divorce has been anything but normal.

Miranda Lamberts Career
To appreciate what the star is currently dealing with, it helps to understand how she has become one of America’s favorite country singers. She and her father started singing together when she was just a teen, and together, they met some people in the industry that took a liking to Miranda’s voice. She soon found herself a finalist in the 2003 season of Nashville Star, where she took third place. Soon thereafter, she signed her first record deal with Epic Records and recorded her debut album Kerosene. Lambert enjoyed four hit singles from that records, which later went to be certified platinum. In all, Lambert has recorded five albums, and has enjoyed many hit songs, as well as being honored by The Grammys and the Country Music Association Awards. Just as she was about to release her fourth album, Lambert met Blake Shelton when they performed together, and were soon married.
The Couple Splits
Not many people suspected that the couple commonly known as country music’s cutest couple would call it quits. In fact, if you read the quotes attributed to both of them over the past eight years, they talk adoringly of each other and say they were in the marriage forever. But all of that came to an end this month when Blake Shelton filed for divorce on July 6, and the couple’s fairytale marriage came to an end on July 20.
Shenanigans in the Courthouse
To add to the announcement of the split, the couple is now having to endure questions about how the legalities of their divorce were handled. A former Oklahoma state representative has said publically that “there’s some shenanigans going on,” in the way the divorce papers were sealed. Normally, divorce records are only sealed if the privacy of them outweighs the public interest. But Lambert and Shelton’s records were sealed, and the former state representative says that the judge who sealed them broke the law by doing so.
The couple issued a joint statement through their reps, saying “This is not the future we envisioned. It is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
Blake Shelton Throws Lambert’s Things Out
As if the month couldn’t get any worse for the singer, she found her personal belongings on the front porch of the home she and Shelton shared during their marriage. It’s been reported that Miranda Lambert is moving to Nashville, while Shelton has plans to stay on the couple’s ranch. But Lambert had not yet picked up her things from the ranch, and when Shelton, who has been traveling since the announcement of the divorce, learned that his house was still filled with his ex-wife’s things, he told his hired help to put all of her stuff out on the front porch.
