10 Years Reviews

Without a doubt 10 Years had a lot to live up to after releasing . Its passionate lyrics, raw sound, fantastic musicianship and sorrowful interludes set them apart from all of their alternative metal counterparts on that record and they made fantastic use of their influences that include Tool and Deftones respectively. It also boasted an amazing vocal performance from Jesse Hasek who has said himself that he actually looks up to Maynard James Keenan...

Sound: 10 Years have released their latest album, "Minus The Machine" and it doesn't disappoint. It does contain predictable song structures and is much like "Feeding The Wolves" album, which was something I was surprised to see. 10 Years made sure to pride themselves in disconnecting from their label, stating that it was essentially like being stuck in a bad relationship that they knew had to end. This album is released under their own label instead. 01...

Sound: Back in 2005 Knoxville natives 10 Years made a lasting impression on the rock charts with it's single "Wasteland," and it's likely that the band will likely find itself with at least a few hit singles on the new album Division. Much like Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle, 10 Years has an accessible sound that should reach a wide audience, but they also tend to be a little more daring at times...

Sound: Although some interviews indicated that the fourth studio album from Knoxville, Tennessee, band 10 Years would deliver heavier material than ever before, the latest material still is tailor-made for radio airplay. There are certainly moments where there might be aggressive, chugging guitars or the tempo taken up a notch, but for the most part Feeding The Wolves doesn't stray too far out of 10 Years' comfort zone...

Sound: 10 Years had a lot of buzz about them even before they released an album. Apart from that the band got some solid support -? a deal with Republic/Universal and Josh Abraham (Staind, Velvet Revolver) to produce their debut record. "Autumn Effect," out August 2005, is the band's first effort for major label, in fact they have already released an indie album "Wasteland" before...

Let me be honest, this was my first exposure to 10 Years. For whatever reason, hroughout all my musical flings and obsessions they're one band I somehow missed along the way. Their new album, Feeding The Wolves, is their fourth studio album and their third major label release. The band said this will be their "heaviest material" to date, so let's jump right into it and see if that's true. "Shoot It Out" is the first single off the album, and it definitely starts out heavy...

"This band has alot to offer and a great future ahead following up the success of their first single will be key" On the announcement of 10 Years critically acclaimed song Wasteland added to the new Headbangers Ball album, I thought I would do a review on their debut album The Autumn Effect. First let me state I am a fan of the band, though they arent in my top 10, and I wouldn't go see a 6 band show just for them, but I do enjoy their sound...

10 Years have always been a little subconscious but they've never been this obvious with their beliefs. Whether this subjects the listener to a microscope too observed is left to discretion, but objectively it does not aid in their stride to become more objective. Essentially what the band was driving for was a sound more profound and hard driven, except they ended with a release more subdued to judicial outings and slightly tailored toward the youth of yesterday...

Summary: Not much is nu, but another enjoyable album reliant on its highlights. Over the course of their 10 years recording albums, Knoxville outfit 10 Years have somehow remained on the correct side of the alt-metal/post-grunge divide. By incorporating heavier, more atmospheric traits into their sound, the now quartet (following the departure of guitarist Matt Wantland) have managed to stay out of the much derided mainstream rock grouping which the likes of Nickelback and Creed spearhead...
