Amon Amarth Concert Tickets

Deeply rooted in melodic death metal with lyrics centered around Viking history and Norse mythology, Amon Amarth (formerly known as Scum) was formed, with the arrival of Johan Hegg as the new vocalist, in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden, a southern suburb of Stockholm. They began writing material with lots of melodies, harmonies and lyrics about Vikings and the norse Pantheon. In summer 1993 they entered Lagret Studio to record the Thor Arise demo, which would later on appear on the bonus disc of the album Versus The World. Amon Amarth, Enslaved, Skeletonwitch - Saturday Jan. 25th, Tampa FL Sunday, January 26, 2014 Tags: Amon Amarth > Enslaved > Skeletonwitch I left my house in Orlando just after 5:00 PM. Doors at The Ritz were at 7. Skeletonwitch took the stage at 8. This gave me just enough time to make the drive to Tampa, find a place to park, stand in the will call line, get my ticket and get inside...

For a band so clearly invested in tales of invasion, war, and conquest, Sweden's Amon Amarth is a strangely lead-footed target, so listless and uninterested in change that they'd make for an easy capture on a Norse battlefield of old. During the last two decades, they've released nine albums of headstrong Viking metal, built almost entirely around tales of shared Scandinavian heritage and tunes that either charged like a massive military's frontline or sailed skyward like a hard-earned victory...

AMON AMARTH - DECEIVER OF THE GODS Sunday, June 23, 2013 Releases June 25th via Metal Blade Records One of the things I like most about Amon Amarth (aside from their music, which I enjoy very much) is that they're dependable. You always know what you're going to get from them, and they never disappoint. Album after album they deliver well executed, fairly basic medium to fast paced death metal with lyrics derived primarily from Norse mythology...

What begins with scorching, melodic twin leads, a mead-induced flurry of double-kick drumming, and the meatiest, most malevolent vocals this side of Valhalla? If you answered "The ninth studio outing from Swedish melodic death metal legends Amon Amarth" then you are correct and can drink from the chalice...

With their latest record, Amon Amarth deliver another round of Norse storytelling set to a melodic death metal soundtrack. Now nine albums into their career, the Swedes have developed this combination into a finely tuned package; gives us everything we expect from the band, along with a little old-fashioned metal revitalization. Melodic leads fly in from every direction, sometimes heading off into soaring solos, sometimes diving into tightly synchronized harmonies...

4/5No one delivers big, punch-in-the-face motifs better than Amon Amarth, and the Swedish melodic-death-metal titans have excelled themselves on their ninth studio album. Produced by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Accept), Deceiver of the Gods is at turns martial ("Father of the Wolf"), elegiac ("Under Siege"), blatantly neo-classical ("As Loke Falls"), and firmly committed to traditional Priest- and Maiden-style riffage ("Warrior of the North")...

Sound: To describe Amon Amarth's sound and their music, you would need a visual image. Imagine a group of vikings landing in their longboats and just slaying everything. then writing some quality metal about it. This music really does paint a picture for me, the guitars, drums, vocals, the lot really makes you feel a part of whichever story is being told in the given song...

Sound: The Viking-Metal power house Amon Amarth released Twilight of the Thunder God in September 2008. I hadn't had a chance to purchase this album until early December, so excuse the late review. Well, I personally am an absolute history fanatic, and have always been interested in some day studying the Vikings, and I am a huge fan of the Death Metal genre, so this couldn't possibly go wrong. I'm glad to say, it didn't. I was blown away when I first listened to this record...
