Brant Bjork Concert Tickets

Hailing from Palm Desert, CA, USA Brant Bjork began playing with guitarist Josh Homme, bassist Nick Oliveri, and singer John Garcia while they all were still in high school, resulting in the formation of Kyuss. Bjork helped issue what became one of the decade's landmark releases, 1992's "Blues for the Red Sun," which almost by itself created the ensuing "stoner rock" movement. Bjork showcased his songwriting talents, single-handedly penning two of the album's highlights, "Green Machine" and "50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up). Only a few months after completing a world tour with Vista Chino (ex-Kyuss Lives!), Brant Bjork unexpectedly returned to the stage with some friends under the new moniker, The Low Desert Punk Band. Even though nobody expected any new solo material this year, he started teasing the crowds with several fresh tunes. Then, without much hype, landed his hardest hitting album yet, ...

Considering that Brant Bjork put out the Tres Dias and Somera Sol albums last year, coming up with a third so quickly would be an amazing feat had the former Kyuss and Fu Manchu drummer not recorded Punk Rock Guilt (aka The New Jersey Sessions) back in the winter of 2005 and stashed it away for the right moment. Contrary to what the title suggests, there's nothing punk rock about these lengthy riff-heavy jam...

Whenever Brant Bjork releases a new album as a solo artist or as a member of a band, it's a crapshoot as to what musical style will be included in its grooves. Will it be Santana-like funk jams (the great Jalamanta), stoner/desert rock (Kyuss' classic Blues for the Red Sun), or vicious gutter punk (Mondo Generator's A Drug Problem That Never Existed)? On his 2004 solo outing, Local Angel, Bjork throws another wild card onto the table, as the album is a mellow, bare-bones affair...

In the 1990s, Man's Ruin earned a reputation for loud, in-your-face rock and thrived on heavy metal, alternative rock, stoner rock, and punk. Brant Bjork's Jalamanta was a surprising departure for Man's Ruin in that the Bay Area label had never before put out anything so funky and R&B-influenced...

As notorious a studio rat as he isn't a fan of touring, Kyuss and Fu Manchu drummer Brant Bjork continues to expand his increasingly eclectic and respectable career with this self-named project, which, though it may suggest otherwise, effectively represents a one-man tour de force (minus keyboards, provided by one Mathias Schneeberger, and occasional guest vocalists and lead guitarists)...
