With 219* Pikes under his belt, all released within a 4-year span, Buckethead has drastically divided his fan base and pretty much shunned any accessibility into his colossal catalog. Unless you have an affinity for his trademark multifaceted sense (or lack) of melody, it will be very hard to start digging...

While Buckethead has been releasing consistently strong pikes in recent times, he's also been moving slowly and surely away from his older works. With moody epics, deeper songwriting and an incredibly diverse palette, we don't really see him rock out like he used to. saw him reaching back in time, pulling his tried and tested formula into the present and twisting it to suit his newfound maturity...

While there have been a multitude of preventable issues plaguing the Pikes series, the biggest flaw has always been the unnecessary padding. It's obvious that no artist, regardless of how gifted they may be, can keep up a release schedule of such intensity and continue to release fully realized statements...

At this point in the Pikes, most Buckethead addicts have come to accept the lack of continuity and direction for this "series" of albums. With over 17 albums released already in 2015, and >100 in the past 18 months, it's hard to discern where he gets the drive to keep it up. Sure, there's some focused gems in that pile of releases; as a touching dedication to his mother, with a decidedly unique atmosphere - but for the most part, these releases blunder due to a complete lack of individuality...

By now, everyone must be fed up with Buckethead's relentless album releases. The Pikes series started less than three years ago and it already produced 49 pieces at an inhuman pace, with no signs of stopping. Putting out a lifetime's worth of material, times five, inevitably attracts its own issues. A huge amount of tracks are forgotten since the listener's being bombarded with a new pike almost each week, while a lot of experiments feel like leftovers that even though they share the man's...

Sound: Waited for 10 long years for it and by god it was worth every moment. "Electric Sea" is the 35th studio album by Buckethead and is the sequel of "Electric Tears", which was released in 2002. Now before going into the details of the sound I should say that Buckethead, who sports a mysterious appearance, produced some of the greatest melodies only with electric and acoustic guitar that it will take you far away from your surroundings to the world of happiness even when everything is sad...

Sound: This is by far Buckethead's softest albums. Electric tears is Buckethead's ninth studio album. They're are only two instruments played during the entire album and that is Buckethead on acoustic and electric guitar, not to mention the cool sound effects. This album can be described as a masterpiece by Buckethead. He wrote and composed all but one song. That song was "Sketches of Spain." The aura of the album is mystifying with such titles as "Padmasana" and "Witches on the Heath...

Sound: This being my first Buckethead album, I was quite surprised. I expected an all-out metal attack, considering his appearance and reputation for being of the most technical instrumental guys out there. Seeing articles on him, his influences, being taught by Paul Gilbert, along with the ever popular single 'Jordan', I expected an album completely different. What I received was an album that's simply beautiful...

Sound: This album is an incredibly varied release, containing spell-binding solos, heavy thrash, and mind-blowing ambient tracks. 01. Intro - a 15 second intro track (obviously). Feels very edgy, but doesn't really go anywhere, ultimately. 02. We Are One (feat. Serj Tankian) - first thoughts, System Of A Down? Yup, it's Serj Tankian guest vocalising, and the guitars and drums pull out some sweet System-styled riffs...
