Bullet For My Valentine Reviews

Type: Album Release date: 11/02/2013 Ultimately it is telling that the best song present here is a re-imagining of a previous smash. But leveling criticisms of unoriginality or lack of innovation and evolution at bands like Bullet for My Valentine is almost redundant. Upon hearing the first two singles from Welsh metal stalwarts Bullet For My Valentine's fourth full-length Temper Temper, I feared the worst...

The most successful British metal band of their generation, Bullet for My Valentine have a vast fanbase of sulky teenagers, and little reason to win over the rest of a scene that generally regards them with disdain. Temper Temper will do nothing to change that, and doubtless be another commercial triumph, not least because it offers an ever more sanitised version of their trademark sound...

Standard bearers for a new millennial wave of British metal, Bullet For My Valentine have carved themselves a nice little niche as darlings of young metallers whilst retaining a (small) degree of credibility. Often compared to Trivium, the pair have indeed run along parallel careers appealing to the same crowd...

If are to emulate the outstanding careers of the bands they look up to - , , - then the Welsh metallers had better hope album four's shortcomings are merely springboards to a better future. Precognition is irrelevant to the right now, though. Temper Temper is an album that falls some way short of the quality many were anticipating. Bullet are sitting pretty atop the heavy metal tree; but these tracks offer little to explain the band's successes...

Sound: The sound of this album is like nothing you've never heard before. Yeah you can tell it's a emocore band, but they ain't like your normal sterotypical ones like Funeral For A Friend. Fast paced guitars with great solos. It's heavier and faster to your normal emocore band. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics are pretty weak, and sometimes the stucture doesn't go very well...

Sound: After earning Kerrang's Best British Newcomer in 2005 and impressing audiences with their Maiden-influenced body of work, Bullet For My Valentine has returned with it's latest collection of riff-heavy metal tracks, Scream Aim Fire. Vocalist/guitarist Matthew Tuck mentioned in a Revolver interview that the new record would be "a lot more up tempo, a lot more aggressive," which actually isn't necessarily true when you hear the finished product...

Sound: The music is great. There heavy metal guitars, lightning fast drums, and killer vocals make this band not just a band but a kick ass band! It starts out with '4 words(To Choke Upon)' a song with great vocals, a fast solo, and awesome backing vocals done by Jay, the bassist, and Padge, their lead guitarist. Next is the title track 'Hand Of Blood' which is easily the best song on the album. 'No Control' is the hardest, heaviest, and meanest song on the EP, while 'Curses' is the softest...

Sound: This band has made a masssive leap from their EP and it was in the right direction, more of the same from these talented guys. From the beginning it hooks because of the way the intor has been crafted it sets you up on a journey of one of the greatest albums this year...

Sound: Bullet For My Valentine has always had a fairly strong sense of melody within its past work, but the Welsh band's latest album Fever does seem to place more emphasis on that side than ever before. As a band that has been greatly inspired by classic metal artists like Metallica and Iron Maiden, the quartet hasn't completely abandoned its heavier roots...
