Release Date: April 1, 2014 Take away any preconceived notions you might have about Chevelle and think for a minute about what it's like to chase a dream. Then think about how gratifying it would be to see that dream come true. That is in essence the life of Chicago hard-rock trio Chevelle. From humble beginnings at a friend's Chicago house party to more than a dozen Billboard top ten hits, the band has driven their passion to the highest of heights and has no intention of slowing down...

In an age over-burdened by data from thousands of sources, it's quite an achievement when a band whips up even an ounce of excitement in the second decade of its existence. Chevelle are this very band as their new release debuted in the top 3 of Billboard charts, marking their highest grossing first week thus far. Along with Deftones, the Chicago outfit have always been ahead of the game when it comes to ambitious alternative metal with massive cross-over appeal...

An artist playing it safe with their sound for too long is never a good thing. Little do these artists know is that making tweaks to their sound may make for their most enjoyable album yet. Though Chevelle isn't exactly the most mainstream artist out there, they had their fair share of hits in the Billboard Hot 100 like "Send The Pain Below" and "The Red...

The world needs its fair share of songs for movie trailers and entrance themes for wrestlers and baseball players, and Chicago's Chevelle are more than happy to deliver. Since the band first hit pop paydirt in 2002 with , their driving drop-d numbers have regularly strong-armed their way onto stadium sound systems and Billboard's Top 20. In Canada, we're somewhat isolated from the pervasiveness of American rock radio, where Chevelle have actually ruled for more than a decade...

Sound: Chevelle formed in 1995 as a trio of brothers and while there has been a single lineup change since they formed, you still have 2 out of 3 of the brothers joined by their brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini, on bass guitar since 2005. I just realized that this marks more albums being released with the current lineup than with their original lineup with brother, Joe Loeffler, who left or was fired depending on who you ask and when you asked them...

Release Date: August 31 2009 If there's one thing I love about music, it's that bands don't have to conform to one genre. Bands and artists can mix genres together, or even create their own. I've just been getting into the genre of hard rock, which bands like Three Days Grace and RED fall into, and I knew that Illinois band Chevelle was another one of those bands...

Sound: In the spring of 2010 it was announced that Pete Loeffler had begun writing new songs for an album to be released in fall of 2011. It ended up being winter instead of fall, but the sixth studio release by Chevelle was finally announced to have a release date for 12/06/2011. The single "Face To The Floor" was released in October and began to get some radio play. The album has eleven tracks and clocks in at just under forty five minutes, which is a respectable length...

Sound: At first listen you'll notice a garage/jam band kind of sounding album but soon you'll hear that distinct chevelle sound throughout the 11 track album. The brothers Pete, Joe, and Sam had been in their teens well recording this album. Point #1 has an extremely raw sound yet all intruments are as clear as you'd expect on a junior release. Intrument wise their is alot of repetetion but with petes vocal melodys it fits well...

Sound: Chevelle's latest CD Vena Sera is a milestone of sorts for the band, marking the first release since bassist Joe Loeffler was kicked out of the band by bandmates (and brothers) Pete and Sam Loeffler. Even though one-third of the Chevelle equation has been subtracted, the sound of Chevelle is not altered too much by Joe's absence and fans of hits like "The Clincher" should be satisfied by Vena Sera...
