Glassjaw Reviews

Sound: Glassjaw is unlike any band that you have ever heard before. The intensity of Glassjaw's debut full length "Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence" will never be matched again. From each song to the next, you are on the edge of your seat begging for mercy as Daryl yells lyrics at you, you couldn't even think up, backed by pounding guitars led by Justin Beck, and drums to hold everything together...

Sound: Glassjaw is one of the few bands who've managed to create what every band strives to do; create their own completley unique style. Upon listening to them for the first time I was blown away by how they blended so many styles together. Each song on the album has its own style and none sound alike which makes the entire cd enjoyable from start to finish...

Glassjaw are a band who tends to divide opinion in extremus. Unfortunately for them, they emerged with their debut full-length on Roadrunner Records during what has become known as one of the darkest chapters of musical history: the nü-metal era. Some nights I wake, drenched in cold sweat, fearful of a world that allows atrocities such as Tommy Lee's Methods of Mayhem to exist...

Release Date: February 13, 2011 Well, this may or may not be the end stop on the road for another few years for us Glassjaw fans. After eight years, we were first given the Our Color Green EP, a collection of songs that have been performed for some years, and now we are presented with the Coloring Book EP, songs kept vaulted until they premiered live during the first of the year (with the exception of "Black Nurse")...

Glassjaw's latest reinvention could leave a mass murder of puns in its wake, but something about coloring outside the lines seems to fit best. The band's latest offering of new creations, which arrives just a month after the digital singles collection Our Color Green is a stunning departure from that EP's often razor-sharp, chaotic aggression and scathing hooks...

Summary: With the re-emergence of Glassjaw, Coloring Book provides a reincarnation of their sound. December 29th, 2006. Glassjaw were full-fledged into a 2006 mini-tour that had rumblings of a new album, consistent touring, and essentially every outlandish rumor that could be conceived. On the way out from Webster Hall in New York City, the only thought that stayed was 'did that really just happen...

Sound: If you are a follower of Glassjaw you may have already heard most of these songs on a live bootleg concert of these guys that was released on a fan site shortly after new years. The last five songs on the bootleg are all new songs that you can find on this EP, with the exception on the last track "A Song to Break Up To", which on the EP this song is titled "Stations Of The New Cross". These 6 completely new songs are very different from their "Our Color Gree" release...

Sound: The sound is like the bands previous material, vibrant and rough. One thing I notice is that there seems to be a little electronic sound through out which could be influenced by Daryl Palumbo's side project "Head Automatica". This isn't a bad thing it works with what GJ have done. Jesus Glue makes some use of dynamics, but out of the 5 songs I think "All Good Junkies Go To Heaven" is the strongest song. Has it been worth the 8 year wait? In my opinion it has...
