Disarm the Descent, is the first Killswitch Engage album with Jesse Leach since Breathing. It is certainly not the return to greatness that I think most Killswitch fans were hoping it would be but overall, though, it's still pretty solid album with a lot of promise for a live setting. As per the standard from these guys they have delivered yet another somewhat huge animal of an album that exposes brilliant and melodic clean vocals draped in and around the mouth of a hardcore spat style and the...

The New Awakening ...
"All that we suffer through leads to determination / The trials we all go through gives us the strength to carry on," sings vocalist Jesse Leach on the resolute "In Due Time" off Killswitch Engage's sixth and latest studio release, Disarm the Descent. You see, Jesse Leach has another shot with the Massachusetts metalcore pioneers and this time he is determined to see things through...

Sound: Killswitch Engage albums have always boasted the crisp, clean production of guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, also known as Adam D., he of the booty shorts, capes and onstage comedic relief. Dutkiewicz's production was never sterile or too polished, either. He just made every note, riff and beat clear as a bell and thus allowed his band to have a DNA-distinct sound that many copied, but few could fully replicate...

Sound: I have been a fan of Killswitch for sometime now, and their most recent album just sealed the deal. As Daylight Dies is an album composed of incredible guitar playing and stunning vocals all mixed together. Adam D is a great guitarist and Howard is an AMAZING vocalist. They didn't stray to far away from their roots on this album, which is half the reason I love it so much. // 9 Lyrics and Singing: Howard has to be one of my favorite vocalists of all time...

Sound: Before I even start, I have to say that this just might be my favorite album ever. Alive or Just Breathing really put Killswitch on the map, but this a gem that absolutely should not be missed. Also, for this review, I will be referring to the remastered edition. This is Killswitch's debut, and what a hell of a debut. It's packed with so much raw emotion and passion. Jesse Leach is such a great vocalist. The man can really do everything...

Sound: Wow! The sound of this band is amazing. The guitarists are insane, and they have great melody and rhythm. I love the singing and screaming of the lead singer, Howard Jones. All the songs have distinct variations in sound, and all are great. Sounds alot similar to earlier albums, with the exception of the new singer, who I perfer more. You can tell all of the words; although some screaming, it is only in the parts where necessary or sounds great...

Sound: When I first listened to alive or just breathing I didn't know what to expect. I had already owned the end of heartache CD, and, in my mind, nothing could have been better. This CD proved me wrong. This was Killswitch's second released CD, and their first CD through Roadrunner Records. The overall sound quality of the album was absolutley amazing, and the musicianship is top notch for todays average metal band. Adam D...

"The ultimate doom for the album, however, was the expectations that were set prior to its release." Killswitch Engage's first eponymous album in 2000 was one of the first great metalcore albums. Featuring gritty breakdowns, soaring choruses, and gut-wrenching shrieks; it was a breakthrough in modern American metal as the extreme and radio-friendly elements mixed together seamlessly...
