Metallica Concert Tickets

Metallica is an American metal band formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California, United States when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in The Recycler. Metallica’s line-up originally consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, and lead guitarist Dave Mustaine. Mustaine was later fired due to problems with alcoholism and drug addiction - he went on to form the band Megadeth. You can't help but admire Metallica, even if their music isn't to your taste. Against all expectations for their genre of music, and with the industry in tatters, they continue to tour the stadiums of the world, year in year out, playing to millions of fans every time they emerge from their San Francisco HQ.

No matter how you look at it, it's pretty much universally agreed that Metallica are past their prime. While the band still tour relentlessly like always, their 80s heyday is now just a sweet memory and musical haven to fans looking to get their thrash metal fix. Even Death Magnetic, while attempting to recapture the old classic Metallica vibe, still saw a pretty mixed fan reception (but hey, at least it wasn't another St. Anger!)...

After recent DVDs chronicling Metallica shows in Paris and Mexico, here comes another, with a night of metallic volume in Quebec City, Canada. Perhaps this is over the top, given that the stage show is essentially the same (black beach balls raining down at the end, coffins looming over the stage and what have you), but you can't say that Metallica haven't given thought to this latest instalment, asking 35,000 fans to vote for the setlist via their website...

Goddammit. Let me explain. There are certain things I need to believe in order to go on living. There's love, for example. The potential for mankind to better itself and one day take its place in the United Federation of Planets. Stuff like that. Another of these guiding principles: Fuck Bob Rock forever. Dude is a twat who takes rock bands and just shits all over them. The most famous example is supposed to be his production job on Metallica's Metallica, a.k.a. "the Black Album...

Sound: Okay this is like a single tape thingy that Metallica had released. I can't realy tell you the year it was released in but it's between the years 1984 and 1986. The album only has three songs which are Creeping Death, Am I Evil? and Blitzkreig. I like Creeping Death alot especially at the introduction and even though the other two songs are covers I like Metallica's version of Am I Evil? just as much as the Diamond Head version...

Sound: Metallica definetly went for a more hard rock sound on both "Load" and "ReLoad", and this track shows that sound at its best. As you may know, this song was originally called "Fuel For Fire" and you can probably find the original on YouTube. The b-side on my copy, "Until It Sleeps", was a song I hated until I heard the live version. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics of this track are great, fitting in with James' love of cars. The lyrics seem to go with the music very well...

Sound: This is propely the first EP Metallica released after the Release of the Kill 'Em All album. There are only three tracks on the EP each of them are also on the Kill 'Em All album. The three tracks are Jump In The Fire, Seek And Destroy and Phantom Lord. Each of those three songs are great. The intro riff to Jump In The Fire. Phantom Lord is my favorite song on the EP. Seek And Destroy is good to. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics are pretty cool. The lyrics fit the music great...

Sound: This is the 2nd Single from Metallica's breakthrough album "...And Justice For all." It showcases one of the highlights from the notoriously badly produced 1988 record. It also has 2 covers which oddly enough are better produced than the actual song. I'm not giving it full marks because it is so poorly produced. // 8 Lyrics and Singing: "Harvester Of Sorrow" is one of the lyrical masterpeices of "...And Justice For All" with lines such as "Anger, misery, you suffer unto me"...

Sound: Hero Of The Day does not sound like the Metallica I know. The whole approach is different. And while the single includes a live Kill/Ride medley, these songs off their first two CDs do not even sound like classics anymore when played by Metallica. I mean they sound like different songs. Slower, more choppy, and I need not talk about James' recent voice change shall I...
