The record is a brilliant summary of Mr. Kotzen, showcasing his fluid guitar playing and his soulful vocals...

I listen to a lot of music. I listen to tons of metal in all the melodic genres, and also most any melodic hard rock I can get my hands on. Every once in a while, I come across an artist or band who simply does not fit the grid. The music surprises me and pleases me. Call it cognitive, or acoustic dissonance, if you will. Sound: This album has an unbeatable sense of freshness even many years after it's release date, it is very spontaneous, very well written and played. I could call it seventies blues-rock-soul infectious music with the turbo of Richie's guitar playing in it (guitar playing which is everything but limited and seventies)! Fantastic riffs are everywhere in this album and Richie has a very cool array of seventies guitar tones...

Richie Kotzen put himself on the map in 1989 the way many of his Shrapnel Records/guitar shredding bretheren did -- he put out an all-instrumental album showcasing his unbelievable chops, and made a splash in the guitar community with lots of magazine interviews, clinics, and product endorsements. When it came time to produce a follow-up album, Kotzen decided to broaden his appeal by doing more pop-oriented vocal songs -- much like Joe Satriani was doing at the time...
