Saliva Concert Tickets

The group was formed in September 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee. While Memphis was an unlikely place for a grunge / nü-metal band, Saliva was able to follow in the tradition of crafting hard rock songs in radio-friendly format popularized by the likes of Creed and Nickelback. After competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City, the group self-released their self-titled debut album which sold over 10,000 copies in their region, prompting Island Records to take notice. Saliva Reviews

As you may or may not know I listen to every album I discuss at least 3 times before I put any pen to the paper. This new album from Saliva, I have listened to at least a half a dozen times in the last 4 days and has found itself permanently on 6 disc CD changer ALL WEEK! As far as I am concerned - This is their best effort ever...

There's plenty of metal out there, it's like Earth was stuck by an iron nickel meteor and the atmosphere is still burning a bit. Rather than the wall-of-noise ripped vocals of most louder-faster-deafer groups, these guys are much more melodic than most. Amazingly I can make out the lyrics on the first listen: in "Rise Up" they sing perfectly in tune and asking for an ill-defined change in the situation. That's the sign of good metal, and good music in general: it's a call to action...

Sound: With this album, Saliva brings a new kind of music and this is the best way to show that they are very «versatile» guys! They changed from rap-metal to heavy rock/rock n roll and the result is awesome! The guitar riffs are melodic and every song has a good solo. Even knowing that Saliva is one of the most underrated bands in the american music market, I'd like to say that they are much better than some mainstream bands like Linkin Park or Velvet Revolver...

Sound: Saliva's singles over the past few years have had an uncanny way of ending up as the theme songs for various televised events - particularly of the wrestling variety. So with the release of the band's seventh full-length studio record Under Your Skin, one could expect that Saliva might churn out another batch of energetic, in-your-face anthems cut in the same cloth as "Click Click Boom...

Sound: When you're considered one of the go-to bands to perform the WWE theme song or a Sony PlayStation commercial, that can often be a dissuading factor for rock purists. Saliva always has seemed to connect with a widespread audience and has been highly marketable, and their last album Blood Stained Love Story churned out one of the band's most popular singles to date, "Ladies And Gentlemen...

Sound: For TV shows and the movie world, Saliva continues to be the go-to band for driving, fast-paced theme songs. The band has hit a chord with audiences ever since it made the finals in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, and it shouldn't disappoint with its latest album either...

Over the years, great things have come out of Tennessee. One that may often be overlooked is Saliva. The five-piece band from Memphis released their first album way back in 1997, a self-titled effort on Rocking Chair Records. Universal took over for their next one, Every Six Seconds, which was released in 2001. The following year, they followed up with the wildly popular Back Into Your System, which began their ascent to stardom on the Def Jam/Island label...

They just seemed destined for a whole lot more when Nickelback's Chad gave Saliva's singer Josey Scott equal billing on Spiderman's smash soundtrack hit Hero this past summer. The Memphis, Tennessee band offer a heroic sophomore hard-rock album with Back Into Your System: First of all, it sounds nothing like Nickelback, secondly, Back Into Your System puts faith back into hip hard-rock frontmen. Even with the hip-hop influences, the album is still straight-for-it rock...

Saliva's 2001 major label debut, Every Six Seconds, found an outfit more in touch with the Slipknots of the world than their Southern rocker roots. But now the Memphis-bred band has performed an interesting trick: While most of their nu metal brethren have been busily incorporating melodic elements into their writing in desperate attempts to stave off extinction, Saliva threw out the baby, saved the bathwater, and dirtily distilled an actual rock record...
