Release Date: March 26 2013 Now that we're finally in the middle of summer, that means two things - it's the season of pop-punk/easycore, and we're a little more than halfway done with the year. Of course, you (the listener and reader of this review) don't have to only listen to pop-punk this time of year, but rather, whatever you want. Personally, I've always looked at the summer to be the perfect season for pop-punk, i.e...

No band in American hard rock has a more enduring spirit than Sevendust. Having endured every trend, fad, and new wave scene for nearly two decades, the Atlanta-based quintet has stayed true to their style and always created high-quality alternative metal with each album. More importantly, they have weathered a great many personal struggles, including lineup changes, addictions, and the loss of family or friends...

Sound: Ok, obviously Sevendust has an agressive sound. I like this album because of its depth and consistency. I like some songs more than others, but it's a CD that I can listen to straight through without skipping any songs. Morgan Rose is an incredible drummer, and contributes greatly to the sound by putting out interesting abstract beats instead of the normal 2 and 4 rock beats. That's another thing that I like about the sound of this CD, is that it goes outside of the box...

Sound: Sevendust are used to working their asses off like real factory workers, releasing an album every 2 years and touring hard in between the records. Here's another result of their work -- sixth studio album Alpha, out March 6th on Asylum Records. The opener Deathstar introduces you to the record and leaves you no hope the journey is gonna be mild -- Sevendust has never been heavier and rougher...

Sound: This was my first album that I bought from Sevendust and I could tell even though I haven't got the other albums that this album is much heavier. They still got the standard low tuning guitars that they always used, but they experimented with some heavy riffs. Songs like Hero, Pieces, and Failure show this. But, they also kept the softer songs in there too like Shadows In Red, The Last Song, and This Life. Overall great sound for this album...

Sound: This album contains all the elements of previous Sevendust albums: tuned-down power chords put into a different rhythm every song, deep bass, soulful vocals, and break the skins drumming. this album is heavy like all Sevendust's previous albums. They don't really progess in sound, but drummer Morgan Rose calls it a "recovery record...

Sound: Sevendust's eighth studio album Cold Day Memory marks the return of guitarist Clint Lowery after a four-year break from the band, which had been trekking onward with Sonny Mayo during that time. Apparently Lowery felt the new record was "one of the most difficult" because there was more pressure to deliver quality material after being gone for an extended period...

Sound: Could Sevendust be a regular staple on Top 40 radio? Well, maybe not entirely, but it is likely the quintet will become familiar to an entirely new crowd with the new CD Chapter VII: Hope And Sorrow. The album is not completely devoid of the band's metal side, but guest appearances by American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry as well as Alter Bridge's guitarist Mark Tremonti and vocalist Myles Kennedy do indicate that Sevendust might be going for a more accessible sound...

Sound: Alright, this is obviously Sevendust's heaviest album. If your a metal head, this is right up your alley, but if you like the more melodic Sevendust, I'd go with anyone of their other albums. They obviously aimed for a metal album with Black and Too Close To Hate, but then they have Bitch in there which has a nice, clean intro and chorus with rapping and heavy guitars during the verses. The first five tracks on this album are great songs, then it starts getting boring...
