Steel Panther Reviews

There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just rip it off like a band-aid. Arriving here at Steel Panther's third record (or fourth, considering their twice-rebranded "self-titled" album), are fans enjoying this or enduring this? Steel Panther's run their "comedy" glam metal needle past red, perhaps for good. Steel Panther as teased-bouffant, leopard-printed and lipstick-smeared glam rockers are near faultless. Fret blitzes and nutcrunch blasts hit every sequinned target...

Steel Panther - All You Can Eat "With the joke still going strong and the band nowhere near jumping the shark, long live Steel Panther." Posted Thursday, 10 April 2014 in , Rating: 7 It's album number three from Steel Panther and no surprise, it's ridiculous spoof-splattered business as usual. Equal measures braggadocio, totally crude lyricisms and scarily accurate renditions of hair metal's insanity, 'Pussywhipped', 'Gloryhole' and 'Bukkake Tears' are early bangers worthy of equal amounts...

"Fuck the Goo Goo Dolls, they can suck my balls They look like the dorks that hang out at the mall Eminem can suck it, so can Dr. Dre They can suck each other, just because they're gay" From their famous first words, I think most of us knew that Steel Panther would be something special. While they made a previous album as the band Metal Shop, 2009's Feel the Steel is generally considered to be the band's official debut and their real breakthrough record...

Sound: Really, the album cover shows all you need to know. Steel Panther is a hard rock/heavy-metal band from L.A. They are a relatively new band; this is only their third officially released album (also their first on their own label). Not surprisingly, Steel Panther used to be a Van Halen cover band on the Sunset Strip before eventually writing original music and then gaining traction as the '80s parody band that they are today...

Sound: This is Steel Panther's second album, and it is very similar in sound to their first one, "Feel The Steel". The album is full of powerful, energising riffs; crazy guitar soloing, great choruses and fantastic vocals. It sounds exactly like it was released in the late 1980s - fans of Motley Crue's "Dr. Feelgood", Ratt's "Detonator" and similar albums will love this album...

It's a nice thing when life can still surprise you and surely, I would have never expected in my life to see a massive mixed gender crowd singing all together "c'mon pretty baby suck my balls all night." It's September 16th 2009 and I'm at Shepherd's Bush Empire, watching a band that I first saw in 2001 under the name Metal Shop...

They're called Steel Panther. They dress in full 80s glam metal band regalia. Their latest LP, subtly called Balls Out, is adorned with a ridiculously skanky picture of a fake-boobed bimbo holding a pair of brass balls, and it features song titles like Supersonic Sex Machine, 17 Girls in a Row, It Won't Suck Itself, That's What Girls Are For, Let Me Cum In and Weenie Ride. Before you even begin listening to it, it feels like it has to be either the best or the worst thing ever...

"The honeymoon may be over and the sex may have gotten predictable and stale, but Steel Panther still loves the metal masses enough to put out a decent, if uninspired, follow-up to 'Feel the Steel.'" Back to impart more rock star wisdom on love and relationships, Michael Starr and the boys from Steel Panther go "Balls Out" with their follow-up to the stellar debut "Feel the Steel" (reviewed here)...

If you consider that the term "rock and roll" is actually a euphemism for having sex it shouldn't come as any surprise that sex is a favorite topic for many rock and roll bands. It's just a matter of how in-your-face the references are. It might take a few listens before you realize what the Who's "Mary Anne With the Shaky Hand" is all about but you can knowingly snicker the instant you hear ZZ Top's "Tube Snake Boogie...
