System of a Down Reviews

Avg. Customer Rating:
5.0 (based on 9 reviews)

Sound: The sound on this album blew me away with the incredible sound. The guitars on this album are just amazing I think that Daron is a guitar good and he has some insane riffs especially in the song's ADD, Nuguns, Boom and Chic N' Stu. The bass is insane on this album System Of A Down have one of the greatest bassists ever. The drums on this album blew me away, their drummer plays with such rage and just bangs the shit out of the bass drum...

Sound: System Of A Down have been providing fans with their own unique blend of death-metal, funk, and armenian folk for nearly ten years. So after a 4 year hiatus, many fans (myself included) doubted if the band would return with any System-caliber music, if any new releases at all. In short, we all couldn't have been more wrong. Mezmerize (the first part of the double release Mezmerize/Hypnotize) was released on May 17th and immediately began to cause a stir amongst SOAD fans...

Sound: Fast, heavy and crazy. The three words to describe System Of A Down. Serj is a very good, if slightly (although hilariously) mad. The guitar sound is how metal is meant to be, the bass is cool, and the playing the drums to some of those songs must be damn hard, with all those tempo changes. Oh, and if there were 4 words to describe them, the last would be brilliant...

Sound: The short story, System Of A Down have written one of the best of records of their career, of the year, and of the decade. Hypnotize is the perfect blend of blazing screaming crazyness that was very present in their self-titled effort and Toxicity, and the more safisticated blazing screaming crazyness that was Mezmerize. Anyone who had doubts of a band selling out when Daron Malakian started singing will have their doubts thrown right back at them...

Sound: It's System Of A Down time! With their politcal undertones and their nu-metal overtones, they are the leading political band in this country. Toxicity is, quite possibly, one of their most popular CDs. I, however, and not bias to any of their CDs. I love all of them! Let's break down the review now. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: 01. Prison Song - a false start. Just open on all the instruments. Followed by a somewhat fast intro. Serj whispers "They're trying to build a prison...

The massive popularity of System of a Down remains one of the unlikeliest rock success stories in the past five years. Seriously, how on earth could a band of eccentric Armenian-Americans, equally influenced by classic Los Angeles hardcore, '80s metal, Middle Eastern music, funk, and Frank Zappa become one of the most popular heavy acts in America today? Perhaps it's the way the wildly inventive band balances complex time signatures with moshpit anthems...

When we last heard from System of a Down six months ago, they were concluding Disc One of their intended double album on a bitter note, singing of the jaded, phony life in Hollywood, lambasting all those maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard...
