The Dickies went down the route of Punk Jesters a long time ago and the opening track on this live set shows that the world lost out on a great punk band with their seminal 'Solitary Confinement' showing where the influence of Greenday and Sum41 can be found...

Parody punks long dismissed as no-laff ninnies even in L.A., they're rehabilitating their reputations as their accounting careers fall through, with this '78-'80 compilation (in tandem with current product to remain nameless) the spearhead. All This and Puppet Stew is the first release in six years

shout-alongs like "Free Willy" and "I Did It" showcase the group's
trademark blend of buzzsaw guitars and sickly-sweet harmonies...

The Dickies are one of those bands that kind of resist analysis, let alone criticism. A reviewer can point out that they barely know how to play their instruments, and the only proper response would be, "So what?" A reviewer can point out that their version of "Sounds of Silence" is without doubt the worst ever recorded, and the only proper response would be, "Yeah, but their version of 'Paranoid' is the best ever...

Stukas over Disneyland, released after a four-year silence, shows the Dickies training their popcorn wiseguy sights somewhat away from the hardcore and Ramones influences of earlier platters to that of power pop and '60s songs...
