The Trews Concert Tickets

Judging by the boldness of their choices, you’d never guess the Trews are 10 years, five studio albums and thousands of gigs into their highly celebrated career. Clearly, someone forgot to tell them that bands are supposed to become more predictable as the years go by, not less so. The Trews Reviews

Sound: It seems as if this album is straight out of the '70s. Den Of Thieves is straight rock and roll with some great guitar licks/solos. The trews sound has evolved a little bit in this album over their last album as they are experimenting with different instruments, sound effects and different vocals. In my opinion their experimenting pays off on Den Of Thieves, it sounds great. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: Probably the biggest improvement from this album to their last is the vocals...

In their homeland of Canada, The Trews are somewhat of a rock institution, having now pumped out four albums that spawned number one singles and garnered praise, Gold record accreditations and numerous Juno Awards (The Canadian version of the Grammys, so goes the party line). In Australia, they are somewhat of an unknown quantity at the moment, a situation that is likely to change in the near future, as the group begins their assault on Australian radio...

An album title has never been as oddly appropriate as with The Trews' Hope & Ruin. It all starts in confident fashion with the straightforward, hooky rock of 'Misery Loves Company' before 'One By One' showcases a softer side of the Canadian rockers with its delicate rhythm. 'People Of The Deer' swiftly follows and contains some great funk rock posturings and hope is raised that what follows will be a varied, exciting record...

For those who have never quite recovered from Gord Downie's leading the Hip away from the beer taps and into the library, The Trews will breathe fresh fumes into their rock-a-lot sails. It's not really my bottle of Canadian, but it'll probably appeal to the university pub circuit with appropriate gusto. (Dylan Young)

The follow-up to 2003's House of Ill Fame, this disc's blend of styles and influences does much to get away from its predecessor's perceived one-dimensionality. A paean to dirty-jeans-and-boots rock, Den of Thieves is also a statement album, that rare sophomore effort that outdoes its forerunner in terms of versatility and musicianship...

In contrast to 2006's Den of Thieves, this album is pretty, well, flat. I've listened to it three times and all I feel is ambivalence. Last time around we got a solid rock album, one with soulful jigs and impassioned ambles. This time we've got The Trews Lite - some of the taste, but none of the kick. This is best articulated by Gun Control, a song about Virginia Tech whose rhetoric has all the weight of an op-ed piece in a student newspaper...

Sound: This cd is just straight up rock. I don't know how to describe it other than that. It is an excellent cd. There are a few sweet solos in the songs, especially every inambition. This is one of the best new cds to come out in the past year. I think that The Trews are going to help spearhead the new rock revolution along with The Darkness, Jet, The Strokes, Sam Roberts, Maroon 5, Hot Hot Heat and The Killers. I would recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of real rock...

Sound: The Trews once again have come out with an album that will blow your mind. Their combination of hard rock sounds and hard hitting beats comes as no surprise to anyone who's listened to any of their past records. This offering also indicates a maturing sound, and a band that are more open to experimentation...
