Ufo Concert Tickets

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) UFO is a British hard rock/heavy metal band that was formed in 1969, with lead singer Phil Mogg, guitarist Mick Bolton, bassist Pete Way, and drummer Andy Parker. UFO was a transitional band between the rock of Led Zeppelin and the metal to come in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Their early releases are commonly referred to as "space rock" with obvious influence from the 60s rock scene. UFO's live and compilationalbums discography rivalstheir studio one in termsof length, so fans mayapproach the unimaginativelytitled Hot'n'Live with caution.

Michael Schenker fans who missed out on his Walk The Stage 5-CD live box set can apprise themselves this month of a 14-song EMI best of, taking in choice MSG and UFO cuts (one unissued); for those whose budget stretches to this expansive set (complete with an unissued eight-song DVD), this is the mother lode. The German axeman's stellar playing shines in the early sets (from a total of four-dozen tracks), while Tonka Chapman et al ably took up the baton thereafter...

For those who only know UFO as one of Britain's greatest melodic hard rock acts, this 22-track overview of their pre- Schenker days (Mick Bolton joining main men Mogg, Way and Parker) may be an ear-opener - but only if they're attuned to space-rock, psych and acid-rock. Hints of what was to come from the mid-70s onwards can be heard in the rattling, echo-vocalled Prince Kajuku (which helped break UFO in Japan), the catchy Galactic Love, and Loving Cup (here in its 7" mix)...

UFO's glory years arguably coincided with German axe-master Michael Schenker's tenure aboard the mothership led by singer Phil Mogg and bassist Pete Way. Following the guitarist's departure (not for the first - or last - time), the British rockers reunited with Paul Chapman in 1980 for the George Martin-produced No Place To Run, which hit No 11 and contained familiar hard- AOR such as This Fire Burns Tonight, and eclectic rocking ranging through boogie, goth and pop...

"What 'Seven Deadly' is, with its soulful vocals and muscular blues-powered guitar riffs, is a classic rock album in both senses of the term." UFO may have served as an inspiration for the likes of Iron Maiden and Metallica back in the day, but the band's latest album is by no means a heavy metal album. What "Seven Deadly" is, with its soulful vocals and muscular blues-powered guitar riffs, is a classic rock album in both senses of the term...

Sound: As each day passes, the year 2012 seems to be the return of rock and roll, and the great hard rock band UFO is returning to help make this a fact. UFO's new release, "Seven Deadly", marks the band's twentieth studio album release, and the album shows that UFO only continues to progress and improve after 42 years of excellent rock music...

Sound: A lot of bands can sound a lot worse when they take their music to the live stage, like if the songs are too technically demanding or simply because it's hard to recreate the original sound of the studio recording. So a lot of bands resort to(or get accused of) editing the tracks so the live album sounds better. UFO didn't do that. All of the songs on Strangers are REALLY live, not edited. Even though it's really a compilation of live performances, it doesn't sound like it...
