Yngwie Malmsteen Concert Tickets

Yngwie Johann Malmsteen (born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck, June 30, 1963) is a virtuoso guitarist / neo-classical metal artist from Sweden who achieved widespread acclaim in the 1980s for his technical proficiency and fusion of classical music elements with heavy rock guitar. Born into a musical family in Stockholm, Yngwie was the youngest child in the family. At an early age, he showed little interest in music. Yngwie Malmsteen Reviews

Avg. Customer Rating:

Sound: This is the first CD I have ever listened to by Yngwie. I was at the music store one day and I decided to pick it up since I've heard about his music before. When I first listened to it I was blown away by the blistering guitar work and neo classical shred passages. The vocals sort of remind me of Iron Maiden and at times Zakk Wylde. If you are into shred I would recommend you give this CD a try...

Sound: When I had first heard of Yngwie Malmsteen, I thought he was just another shredder. I was so incredibly wrong! The sheer technical prowess and his neo-classical influences, that are more prevalent on this album than any other, are not only impressive but, his ability to remain metal without simply electrifying his guitar and playing a natural harmonic scale is possibly the most amazing thing on this album...

Sound: I absolutely love Yngwie's sound on this record. I bought this CD and I just wore it out to death. This is my favorite CD in my entire collection. Yngwie's tone is just absolutely stunning. The members are Yngwie Malmsteen on guitar, Jeff Scott Soto on vocals, Jens Johansonn on keyboards, Marcel Jacob on bass, and Anders Johansonn on drums. I love the track "Marching Out"; he does these crazy volume swell-type things in the song towards the beginning, I kinda liked that...

Sound: This CD is definetly awesome. It starts out with Rising Force, which is one of their best songs ever, and it has tons of other really awesome face melting instant classics like "Now Is The Time," "Riot In The Dungeons" and "Faster Than The Speed Of Light." Definetly this CD is great, go out and buy it! // 10 Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics in the CD are pretty cool. I don't care if some people think they're cheesy. They aren't deep, but they're cool...

Sound: Amazon.com WidgetsYngwie's sound has been likened to musicians stemming from Bach and Mozart, but his real talent is translating the sounds of classical music into something so contemporary and relevant. What Yngwie has been accused of in the past is a tendency to be grandiloquent, putting his prodigal skill in the window display while ignoring his band members...

So you get the latest Yngwie Malmsteen album for your collection or, in my case, also for review. What's the first thing that you do? Play air guitar? Pick your favorite solo? Wonder why hardly any young American rock or metal band can't furnish a single guitarist or a solo near this caliber? (Sorry, that was pure cynicism.) Or try to figure out what foam mousse he's using in his hair these days? (Just kidding on that one, pure sarcasm)...

Being a guitar hero hasnever been enough for Yngwie Malmsteen: He has forged a decade-longcareer as a guitar maestro, combining elements of classical musicwith hard rock. Although Malmsteen's often baroque style of playinghas been a strong influence on metal, ultimately the two musicalforms can't successfully be combined. Fire and Ice exhibits afrustrating double personality...

Sound: It's been a really long time since I've posted anything on UG but I thought I would start off again with a review on Yngwie Malmsteen's new acoustic album 'Angels of Love'. Today (March 19) I picked up this album up in anticipation cause I found a copy (it's hard to find some decent albums where I live). Once I got home, I popped the disc into my computer and put on my headphones, I must say, I'm not too surprised of what I heard...

Sound: This is a quite good Neclassical Metal album, as you'd expect it from Yngwie. I'm a big Yngwie fan, and this album didn't disappoint me, at least not in songwriting and music. But although the music is awesome, the sound quality is very bad - the mix is the worst I ever heard. The drums sound extremely thin, sometimes it sounds like the drummer (John Macaluso) was playing on tins. You cannot hear the bassdrum sometimes, and in the overall mix the drums are too loud...
