Introducing Thrive!
Youth pastor Mark Hall, who is front man for Casting Crowns, says that the Thrive tour – and the band’s Thrive album that sparked it – grew from the messages and teachings that are part of his ministry. The album’s name is a response to all the families who tell him that they are “just surviving” when asked how they’re doing. “That’s not the life God meant for us to live,” he says. “God didn’t put you here just to survive hard times…he put you here to Thrive!”
And when he puts those words against the uplifting music and expansive style of the popular seven-piece band, it’s hard not to believe that “We were made to thrive!”
Mandisa Joins the Show
The opening act for the Thrive tour is Christian gospel singer, Mandisa, who is touting her own new album which just debuted yesterday. “Get Up: The Remixes” is just what it says, a release of remixed hits from the Grammy award-winning Mandisa. The former American Idol finalist will be singing her most popular hits and new music to rev the crowd up for Casting Crowns, and there’s no doubt that’s exactly what she’ll do. Her danceable music brings people to their feet and gets them tapping toes and moving along with her. The album is full of non-stop feel-good dance music, and her set is guaranteed to follow suit.
Street Prophets Round Out the Tour
The final act on the Thrive bill is contemporary Christian group Street Prophets, an up-and-coming young band nominated for the K-Love fan award in the Breakthrough Act of the Year category. Their songs speak of the importance of being broken before God, uplifting and deepening thought at the same time.
