7487f4cab6ee22ba70ba32c3749852baThe snow has melted and the sun is warming things up all over the nation, and for many people that means just one thing: it’s time for festivals. Going to festivals is one of the most popular ways to listen to good music and mingle with others who love that same music. And before we take a look at the 7 most exciting upcoming music festivals of 2017, let’s take a brief look at their history.

Music Festivals are a New Phenomenon, Right?

Not exactly. In fact, the first music festival rocked the world and changed the music world forever. Held in New York at Max Yasqur’s 600 acre farm, the Woodstock Festival was the first ever of its kind. It was held on August 15 – 18, 1969, and although it was plagued by rain and the resulting mud, society has never forgotten it.

Today’s music festivals are a spinoff of the famous festival, and can be just as fun and entertaining. So, now that you know where music festivals came from, let’s take a look at the 6 most exciting ones scheduled for this summer.

Mother’s Day Good Music Festival

This major music festival is scheduled for two venues: The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on May 12 and the the Chaiftez Arena in St. Louis, Missouri on May 14. The line up at the event is exciting as it showcases acts like Tyrese, Brandy, Anthony Hamilton, Kem, DeVaughn, Joe, Raheem, and Tamar Braxton. Tickets are in short supply, especially for the Missouri show, but we have a few left.
