Is There Anything Amos Lee Can’t Do?

Amos-Lee-06-7071-713x439As the writer of this blog, I try to stay neutral whenever I’m writing about the latest news or happenings in the music world. After all, there are a great many music styles and everyone is moved by different rhythms and beats, but it’s going to be difficult to stay neutral on this one. After all, I’m writing about one of the most soulful, feelings-inspired musicians out there: Amos Lee

A Little Background on Amos Lee

If you’re into blues, 70s inspired folk, gut-wrenching lyrics, or the sound of soulful music at its finest, and you haven’t heard of Amos Lee, you’re missing out.  The Philadelphia born singer has a degree in English, which probably explains his poetically inspired lyrics, and before he hit his stride, he worked as a teacher and bartender. But fate intervened when his manager submitted a demo to a record company and it resulted in a recording contract.

Since then, Lee has recorded five albums, and has recently released a new single titled, Vaporize. His first album titled Amos Lee reach number 2 on the Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart. It also resulted in a Rolling Stone placing him on the Top 10 Artists to Watch list.  His second and third albums, Supply and Demand, and Last Days at the Lodge were well received and resulted in more notoriety for the singer. His fourth album, Mission Bell, was released in 2011, and hit number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, number one on the Digital Albums charts, and number 2 on the Internet charge. It was also number one on Amazon’s Top Selling Albums list. His latest album release, Mountains of Sorrow, River of Song, was released in 2013.

The Amos Lee 2016 Concert Tour

Fans were delighted to hear that Lee will be touring this year, and they are showing their enthusiasm by snatching up his tickets quickly. For example, the tour doesn’t kick off until August 10, but as of this writing, there are only 30 tickets left for that date. The other dates won’t last long, so if you want to attend a show and get up close and personal with the soulful crooner, you’d be wise to get your Amos Lee tickets now.

The tour consists of 25 dates, and begins in Boulder, Colorado at the Fox Theatre. It then runs until November 19 where he performs the last of the shows at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington.

Critics are going wild about Lee’s performances of late because he seems to be changing things up a little. He’s known as the shy, soulful singer who wears a scruffy beard, longer hair and baggy pants, but in his latest appearances, he’s leaning more towards a funky persona who actually moves a little on stage and gives the occasional hip swivel. Critics love the new look and mojo and are praising the added horns and sultriness of Lee’s R & B numbers.
