Where Did Ryn Weaver Come From?

Just about a year ago, Ryn Weaver was a relative unknown. The 22-year-old San Diego native had a SoundCloud account, a few tracks, and an eclectic background that includes pop music, Kabuki theater and a love of classic literature. And then, on June 24 of last year, Weaver uploaded her latest track to her SoundCloud account (FemFemFem) – and the Internet exploded.

The winsome singer with the throaty, powerful voice seemingly came out of nowhere with her hit debut single, OctaHate. Within just a few weeks, racked up more than a million plays and thousands of downloads, largely powered by the phalanx of music heavy hitters that shared and championed it. That list included big names like Benny Blanco, Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos, Charli XCX and Norwegian DJ/producer Cashmere Cat – all of whom, it turns out, had a hand in producing OctHate.

In just four days after its release, OctaHate had reached the Number 1 spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists list. By October, she was being featured for interview in Billboard Magazine, and Time magazine put her at the top of their list of Artists to Watch in 2015. All of this attention – and the viral release of Ryn Weaver’s OctaHate, have made Ryn Weaver tickets some of the most sought-after tickets on the market.

Who Is Ryn Weaver?

Weaver’s rise to Internet fame was fueled in part by mystery. Most singers who make surprise blockbuster debuts have a footprint – they’ve played local clubs or been part of other bands before coming out with a breakout single of their own. This didn’t appear to be the case with Weaver, who did her first live performance at the CMJ Music Marathon last October. Until OctaHate, it seems, she’d just been a San Diego girl recording music in her bedroom and putting it up on SoundCloud for a small cadre of fans – mostly friends. So how did it happen that this sultry new singer got some of the biggest names in today’s pop music scene to sign on to her very first single?

Weaver’s debut single, OctaHate, may look like an accident of fate, but its success is directly attributable to hard work and savvy networking by the young singer, along with a stroke of luck. As Weaver told the story to Billboard last year, it all started with a disappointing date.

“I was dating some dude,” she told Billboard, “and they knew each other.”

The two ended up at a party together, and spent the night, Weaver says, talking while her now ex-boyfriend flirted with other ladies. She was grateful to have someone to talk with, and when the night ended, didn’t see or hear from Blanco again for more than a year. Then one fateful night, Weaver and a friend were flipping through her Tinder account when she spotted Blanco’s photo. Her friend messaged the producer, and Blanco invited the two girls to drop by his birthday party the next night.

The Marketing Genius Behind Ryn Weaver

That’s when luck stops and savvy networking and marketing takes over. Weaver made the rounds of Blanco’s birthday party talking up her SoundCloud account. A few weeks after the party, Blanco started getting messages from friends who had met the singer at the party, rhapsodizing about her music and her style. When he finally became intrigued enough to listen, Blanco was blown away. He now calls her potentially one of the most influential voices of the next year, and a star with staying power.

Those are pretty heavy words, but they certainly seem to be prophetic. Weaver launched her first-ever national tour earlier this year in support of her first studio album, Fools, released digitally last August. Everywhere she plays, Ryn Weaver concert tickets are hot sellers, and her shows often sell out early.

In addition to the upcoming show in San Diego, fans can also get Ryn Weaver concert tickets to catch her at several fall music festivals, and in concert halls and small venues throughout the U.S. Box offices often sell out early, so third party ticket sellers are the best bet to find sold out Ryn Weaver concert tickets for all of her upcoming shows.
