Carlos Santana isn’t letting grass grow under his feet. Santana Brings His Corazon to His Music
Released in May, Corazon is billed as Santana’s “first Latin album” – who knew? After all, Santana has always inserted Latino stylings into his music and blended it into a “Smooth” mix. Corazon, however, goes a lot deeper, and Santana brings that deep Latin soul with him on this tour. Just like the album, the concert set list blends Santana’s latest music with long-time crowd favorites like “Black Magic Woman” – and nothing disappoints.
Santana also brings his Corazon (heart in Spanish for those who don’t know) on tour in another way – his son Salvador backs up his dad with intricate and passionate keyboard, and soars in solos that totally bring the house down.
New Album Release
The autumn Corazon tour coordinates with the release of Santana’s latest work – Corazon Live from Mexico – Live It to Believe It, which includes the live CD from the show, a live concert DVD of the December 4th 2013 show in Guadaljara and some other Santana goodies. Carlos will also be releasing his autobiography – appropriately titled “The Universal Tone” – November 4. It’s available for pre-order now and includes the free download of an unreleased Santana song – which he may or may not play on the concert run.
