The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles is Set to Play Host to Headliner Bands

The-Greek-TheaterIf you’re a passionate music lover, one way to up the pleasure factor is to combine awesome music with an atmosphere like the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. In fact, for many music aficionados, it’s the perfect way to begin the summer season. The smell of fresh air, the view of the mountains that occupy the perimeter of the venue, and the blanket of stars that cover the night sky truly does set The Greek Theatre apart from other venues.

With Ben Folds kicking things off on June 27 and The War on Drugs bringing things to a close for the 2015 season on October 16, the Greek Theatre really is the place to be this year.

What’s so Special about the Greek Theatre?

The Greek Theatre offers live music and stage shows that vary from pop music to reggae and even graduation ceremonies. A quick glance at the venue’s 2015 schedule, and you’ll see that this is shaping up to be a very busy year for the popular venue.

Set in the heart of Griffith Park, the Greek Theatre has already played host to many artists over the years. The theatre first opened to the public in 1929, and while it’s not one of the biggest seated arenas in the country, you will have just under 6,000 available seats to choose from when booking your tickets. Small theatres are in demand for many music lovers because rather than watching a concert from an impersonal distance, theatres like the Greek allow you to get up close and personal with the artists and bands that play there.

Another factor that makes The Greek Theatre an exceptional venue is the spectacular architecture. The venue was built to resemble a Greek Temple with an open air atmosphere that is ideal for those hot summer evenings. But that open air environment does shorten the times you’ll be able to enjoy the venue as it closes for the year in the middle of October due to the weather.

Ticket Prices for the Greek

Smaller arenas tend to drive higher ticket prices compared to tickets at the big arenas, and that, combined with the fact that the Greek is only open during selected summer dates, means you can expect to pay slightly more for prime seating.

In addition, ticket prices vary by artist but concertgoers should expect to pay in the range of $70 for seating at the very back of the venue, while front row and main center pit tickets can command quite high prices, with ranges from $400 – $700.  Many music lovers say it’s well worth the price because you’ll as if you can reach out and shake the performer’s hands in these seats.

Tickets for 2015 are now available to purchase, so all you need to do is select the artist you want to see and then choose your seats from the remaining selection. But wait too long, as The Greek Theatre is a sought after venue with limited seating that will sell out fast.
