Van Halen is Still Going Strong

Van Halen is a pop/rock group that literally burst onto the music scene in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Their first album, aptly titled “Van Halen” is considered to be a milestone in rock history, and had teen in those days swarming the concert halls in anticipation of seeing David Lee Roth perform his magic. Nowadays, the band still rocks. Although some of the faces have changed, Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth are back together, along with Alex Van Halen and Eddie’s son, Wolfgang, who is playing bass for the tour. And just to make things interesting, the band has announced that it will put out a new album, which will be recorded at their live show at the Tokyo Dome.

Tickets for their current shows are selling out quickly demonstrating just how much Van Halen is still loved. After all, how many 80s bands can still draw a crowd of enthusiastic fans? Eddie Van Halen, the 80s heartthrob, promises fans that the band will put out a new studio album after finishing their current tour. He adds that the band has more than enough new material.

Kenny Wayne Shepard is the Perfect Band to Tour With Van Halen

Kenny Wayne Shepard and his band will support Van Halen on all the dates of their summer tour, which ends at the Hollywood Bowl this October 2. And as much as Van Halen has transformed the rock world, Kenny Wayne Shepard has magnificently transformed blues guitar, taking it to heights that put him in the pantheon of guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King.  Shepard had seven top ten singles by the time he was 18 years old, culminating with his number one hit “Blue on Black”.  Shepard has announced that the will be releasing a new album, “A Little Something from the Road Vol. 1” on April 18, 2015 and will make it available only in record stores on that day to support “Record Store Day”.  The Kenny Wayne Shepard Band is currently touring with Jonny Lang, but once that tour is over, he and his band will immediately go on the road with Van Halen in July.
