Airbourne Concert Tickets

Airbourne is a rock and roll band from Warrnambool, Australia. The band was formed in 2003 by brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keefe (who were later joined by David Roads and Justin Street), who have grown up with a healthy respect for the fine art that is ''foot to the floor rock n' roll''. They were recently crowned "Best New Band of 2008" in the annual Classic Rock Magazine awards. Check our available Airbourne concert ticket inventory and get your tickets here at ConcertBank now. In 1972 a gangly paceman by the name of Bob Massie took 16 wickets in his test debut at Lords; 18 months later, Massie couldn't get a game in the West Australian state team. In 1985, Bruce Lindner, a talented half-forward from West Adelaide, arrived at Geelong to try his luck in the big league; nicknamed The President on account of his self-confidence, more cynical Geelong fans suggested The Candidate was a more appropriate description of Lindner's contribution...

4/5Simply put, this is Airbourne's Slippery when Wet. Like Bon Jovi in 1986, the Australian hard rockers have hired a Vancouver-based producer--in this case, Brian Howes (Nickelback), rather than the late Bruce Fairbairn--and added a radio-friendly sheen to their career-defining third studio album. The vintage "Whoa-oh" gang chorus that kicks off "Ready to Rock" shows they're gunning to dominate arenas...

It would be easy to be cynical about Airbourne. An unashamedly gruff and primal rock'n'roll band from Australia, dominated by the scabrous bellow and thudding percussive pulse of siblings Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe, they have so much in common with AC/DC that you could perceive the whole enterprise as a passing of the stadium-rock torch to a new generation. What has consistently saved the Warrnambool quartet, however, is the electrifying verve with which they attack their joyously simplistic songs...

Sound: When you kick off your debut album with a song called "Stand Up for Rock-n-Roll," you better deliver the goods to back it up! Airbourne actually go above and beyond the task. Once they get past the guitar intro's arrpegiated crescendos, the band come in full strength to start things off in fine blues-rock fashion...

Sound: Runnin' Wild, Airbourne's debut album was a smasher. It was pure rock. It was guitars, drums, bass and the absolutely scream of Joel O'Keefe's vocals. Sound Similar? Yeah sure, but this group of Aussies really got the pure rock sound well. Now, second album? If you think about it, if it works, why change it? Airbourne's second album 'No Guts. No Glory' is what every Airbourne fan would want, even more...

Australian rockers Airbourne are having way too much fun! Just listen to their latest release, 'Runnin Wild.' These young men are having the time of their lives and playing their balls off. Airbourne calls this music 'genuine fist-pumping, beer-slinging, sweat-soaked rock 'n' roll.' And they are dead on. Inevitable comparisons will be made to their Aussie brothers AC/DC; however, that is not necessarily a bad thing...

"Ooooohhhh yeaahhhhhhhhh, commmeee onnn!" Possibly the best intro to an Airbourne album and that whole vocal phrasing represents every band that Airbourne model themselves on. From the first time I Airbourne in Kerrang a few years back, I was never sure whether I was supposed to be taking them seriously, or whether they were an all out rock n' roll tribute act at its best...

In love as in rock, where one falls there's always another next in line, it's just a matter of time. These days Angus Young only puts out new records when he has a birthday in dog years, so long-haired wannabes and Colt-drinking blonds are constantly searching for bands like The Darkness to appear on their radar. Sweeping in from the prison continent, Airbourne is everything Australian bands are supposed to be: lion-maned partyers who play AC/DC riffs and sing like Cinderella...

I'm an unrepentant Airbourne fan. They make wild, good-time, AC/DC-sound-alike pub rock, and there should always be room for that in our lives. Opener Born to Kill is the best kind of dumb, cheesy rock song: all cock and balls and not too many brain cells. Most of what follows maintains its pace and swagger. It Ain't Over Till It's Over amps that pace up too, and Get Busy Livin' makes me want to go all carpe diem up in this piece. Is it as good as Runnin' Wild...
