Aquacadets come in all shapes and sizes: nerds, new wavers, punk rockers, ska kids, and most notably, children and parents. Thanks to hit Nick Jr. series Yo Gabba Gabba, the Aquabats have been riding the awesome wave of celebrity in the sea of children's programming. It's no coincidence considering the bands' frontman and fearless leader MC Bat Commander (aka Christian Jacobs) is the show's co-creator. While the Aquabats have never been known for mature songwriting, Hi-Five Soup...

Oh sure, their claim to fame in most people's minds is probably that it was the band that Travis Barker (he was known as The Baron Von Tito back then) quit to join Blink-182, but The Aquabats are so much more than a springboard. The guitar distortion is pretty much the same through out the entire album, and a few songs do sound the same, but the overall sound of the album overshadows that...

These guy start out with a bundle of points for just showing up in the geekiest outfits since Devo became mainstream. They follow up with loud, snappy, upbeat music and a comic book mentality. Songs are about not making it with girls, saving the world from non-existent threats and the sort of crap you worry about just before real puberty hits. It's hard to pick a favorite song, but it's either "Tiger Ride vs. the Time Sprinkler!" or "Awesome Forces...
