Though on paper this is another legacy act milking their hits one more time (the main feature here is the Hysteria album, played in its entirety in Las Vegas earlier this year), it's probably the most vital Def Leppard release of recent times. As one would expect, it's a glossy production, superbly filmed and recorded, and with a great light show on stage. The band seem to be at the top of their game too, playing a note-perfect but not clinical set with energy and style.

Sound: When you buy the CD you get a booklet and it tells you a bit about each song which is very interesting to learn about. When I first heard def leppard about a year and a half ago it blew my mind away, the songs were from deep inside. Personaly the 35 songs you get are good but they could of included some other songs, I like gods of war, but it wasn't on ther that kinda disappionted me. But if you like def leppard go and get this album it is the ultimate collection...

Sound: There has been some dispute as to whether or not Def Leppard are a Hair Metal band. However one look at this best of CD and there is little doubt that they (at least to a very large extent) are. Just listen to songs such as "Rock Of Ages", "Animal", "Lets Get Rocked" and so on. They are cheesy, they are fun and Most importantly of all they are excellent. They are Hair Metal and should be proud of it...

Sound: The impression that Def Leppard has given over the years is really quite amazing. Their albums Pyromania and Hysteria have sold 10,000,000 copies each, a feat only accomplished by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Van Halen and Pink Floyd. Sound: This album is probably one of their best. Robert "Mutt" Lange did a great job producing this album. The singer is obviously on drugs (it shows in his singing) but he does a pretty good job getting the lyrics out clear. Some songs though, like "Foolin" (one of their famous ones but I dont like it) and "Die Hard The Hunter", are (or at least start out as) acoustics, using similar patterns and make it pretty boring...

Over the last six years Def Leppard has been an annual resident on the summer touring circuit on package tours giving fans great bang for their buck. Visually they're a dynamite force you realize we took for granted in the 1990's. They hit the stage and for ninety-minutes wallop the crowd with hit-after-hit in note-for-note reproductions. For a band whose most popular work was slickly produced by Mutt Lange, it's rather shocking to see how well they recreate these numbers on the concert stage...
