Foo Fighters Concert Tickets

Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed by singer/guitarist/drummer Dave Grohl in 1995 in Seattle, USA. Grohl formed the group as a one-man project after the dissolution of his previous band Nirvana in 1994. Prior to the release of Foo Fighters in 1995, Grohl drafted Nate Mendel (bass), William Goldsmith (drums) (both of Sunny Day Real Estate and The Fire Theft), and Pat Smear (guitar) (of The Germs) to complete the group. Foo Fighters Reviews

Release Date: November 2, 1999 Many will argue that The Colour and the Shape is, and always will be, Foo Fighters' magnum opus. Alas, music is subjective, and therefore someone like I would instead argue that, while TCATS is a landmark album (and probably their second best), the closest Dave Grohl and co. have come to perfection was 1997's There is Nothing Left to Lose...

Why have three guitars in a band? Why have eighteen strings? Why have sixty-some frets, all to play a few chords, to strum a few notes? "Rope" is why you have three guitars. "Rope" is why you bring original guitarist Pat Smear back into the fold. The first single off Wasting Light, the Foo Fighters' latest album, showcases the band's newfound versatility...

Sound: After a blistering follow up to the debut album 'The Colour And The Shape' was a massive success, but after the loss of foos lead guitarist Pat Smear (also ex-Nirvana) it was up to Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and Nate Mendel to do the third album as a three piece. And what an album! The opening riffs of songs like 'Stacked Actors' and 'Learn To Fly' were just as good as the spacey intro's to songs such as 'Breakout' and 'Aurora'. This album truly sounds fantastic...

Sound: Wasting Light sounds like what you would expect from Foo Fighters, only more so. There is a lot of energy in this album and sounds like the interplay between the 3 guitars really creates some powerful riffs throughout. There is a touch of grunge in the sound of the album, but mainly it is straight forward hard rock with a dash of the indie sound. Wasting Light is full to the brim of hooks and killer riffs, but not in a bad way...

Sound: The CD is good and quality. Lots of innovative songs, especially "Up In Arms" which is one slow song, then repeated super-fast. Dave Grohl does excellent drumming (William Goldsmith was originally the drummer, but quit during production, which led Grohl to drum along with singing/guitar) especially in "Everlong" (single) and "Monkey Wrench." Guitar, covered by Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, is well done, and nice and distorted...

Sound: One by One is a great album. Foo fighters really are the band of the '90s and now, as 1999s fantastic There Is Nothing Left To Lose proved. This album, which I bought 3 years after it came out, is as good as TINLTL. The sound is great, and the style off riffs they write are totally unique and you know it's them. The drums are pounding and clear, the bass great as usual, and the guitar weird and wonerful. Top-notch stuff...

Sound: The Foo Fighters first album is the most spontaneous sounding CD they have. Dave Grohl did all the instruments and vocals except for a guitar part on X-Static. This is the album the sounds most like the "grunge" movement than any other album by the Foo Fighters.(Please note that the foos weren't really in the movement it was just a comparison.) It has a rough sound and unprocessed aesthetic that gives it charachter...

Sound: If there is quality that defines Dave Grohl, it's consistency. The man who has been seemingly unstoppable since his days in Nirvana has continued to churn out solid rock songs with the Foo Fighters, and his band's latest effort Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace will not be alienating any fans -- even when it does get a tad experimental...

Sound: Foo Fighters are a great band, and nobody can deny that. They have made 5 albums now, and not one of them has a terrible song. They all have their lowlights and highlights, but not one terrible song. Out of about 60. Christ. The rock side has a classic Foo's sound to it, not like One By One, which really broke the mould, In Your Honour just makes you even more sure this is gonna be absolutely mindblowing...
