Halestorm Reviews

Halestorm's latest album, The Strange Case of..., is the second affirmation that this female-fronted band is here to stay. Once again produced by Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Flyleaf, Daughtry, Hoobastank), The Strange Case of... is a delicate blend of rhythmic hard rock and pop sensible melodies - oh, and don't forget the blatant attempts at radio success in the form of 'Beautiful with You', 'In Your Room', 'Break In', and 'Here's to Us'...

Sound: Halestorm's second album, "The Strange Case Of..." is an impressive album. It's filled with energetic, radio rock songs, aggressive lyrics and a couple of sensitive ballads. // 7 Lyrics and Singing: From the catchy, reckless opener "Love Bites (So Do I)" to the more heartfelt songs such as "Break In", this album has it all. "Mz.Hyde" has cheerful yet sarcastic verses, and a dark, heavier chorus, with haunting lyrics like "Welcome to the nightmare in my head"...

Sound: Halestorm is very good "up and coming" hard rock band. I say this because while I absolutely love them, it is kind of apparent in a few places that they've only been together for a while. Obviously great potential, though, in part because of Lizzy Hal's amazing voice and range (she also plays rhythm guitar), and the rest because of how well the band works together for the majority of the time. Their drummer is talented a-plenty, and the backup vocals help too...

It seems every generation of teenage girls need their rebellious, sexy icon, and Lzzy Hale of Pennsylvania's Halestorm is putting together a very strong case to be the next poster girl. Second album The Strange Case Of... certainly kicks off in explosive fashion as singles 'Love Bites (So Do I)' and 'Mz Hyde' marry some seriously meaty riffs with Lzzy's powerful yet melodious voice...

Summary: this was unexpected to say the least. 7 of 7 thought this review was well written Basically made for the heck of it, ReAnimate: The CoVeRs gives us an assortment of cover songs, and a decently fun time. Now, I know what you're thinking. The band already isn't that remarkable, and their debut album had much to be desired, so how can an EP filled with cover songs possibly be a good thing? Whether you believe it or not, the sex-driven rock group has done great justice to the songs...

Coming from just one county west from me, Halestorm is an American rock band fronted by the vivacious and multitalented Lzzy Hale. Hale soars on vocals, but is also versed in piano and guitar. Halestorm may be young, but they're hardly youngsters in the business. The group has been consistently active, writing and performing original music since 1998 releasing several self-produced works. Their self-titled debut is their first full-length for Atlantic Records and produced by Howard Benson...

It has to be said that this debut album from Pennsylvania quartet Halestorm is a great disappointment. It has all the ingredients of a class record: a top producer, a very competent and experienced band, with a stand out singer. They have it all to hand, but as has been seen on Masterchef, and not wishing to labour the analogy too far, the combinations have to be stimulating, but also palatable. It's not easy to pull off and so far Halestorm are palatable...
