Hammerfall Concert Tickets

HammerFall is a heavy/power metal band from Sweden, formed in 1993 by Oscar Dronjak and Jesper Strömblad, then members of Ceremonial Oath. Dronjak had already composed some of the new band's music, including the song "Steel Meets Steel". Several of the band's early lineups featured members of other influential Swedish heavy metal bands, such as In Flames and Dark Tranquillity. Artist: Hammerfall Album: (r)Evolution Genre: Power Metal Year: 2014 Label: Nuclear Blast Hammerfall is one of those bands people either love or loathe; there is no middle ground. Personally I love the band, and if the cheese is to much for you why the hell are you listening to power metal? I will admit I found Hammerfall's last album, Infected (2011) , to be a bit lacking. It was a decent listen, but just passable by Hammerfall standards...

Shamelessly and obviously plagiarizing yourself is a strange thing to do. However, when you look at Gothenburg's Hammerfall, it's certainly logical, albeit ultimately ill-advised. The band's debut, (1997), and to a minutely lesser extent, its follow-up (1998), are revered for breathing new life into power metal and helping save metal from itself during the '90s. Fickle fans became bored around album three or four...

Sometimes it's just best to go back to your roots. Hammerfall took some heat from fans over 2011's Infected for the lack of Hector, their mascot, on the cover and the perceived different character of the metal within. (I thought it was a pretty good album.) But now they return to the spirit of Glory to the Brave and Legacy of King with more 'keep it true' melodic power metal. Actually, Fredrik Nordström, responsible for both of those hits, is back in the producer's chair for (r)Evolution...

"HammerFall has given you exactly what you wanted - a return to passionate and glorious cheese so you must 'Live Life Loud.'" When it comes to power metal, it seems there are three tiers of fans: that haters, the lovers, and the indifferent. When it comes to HammerFall, there are two tiers of fans: the dripping admirers and the loathers. Each side alternates, especially if the band decides to recapture some of its original "Glory to the Brave" mojo...

Sound: HammerFall is back and they have a new killer album to share with the metal loving public. Unfortunately their super cool mascot Hector is not there with them. Their new record is just an hour of pure HammerFall. There are killer guitar riffs and soaring vocals. The lineup is not changed from the last album ("No Sacrifice, No Victory") and there sound has not much evolved. The main elemetns of HammerFall are still here and the riffs are still mindblowing...

Sound: HammerFall returns again with their unmistakable brand of power metal, rising up from the sea of melodic death metal bands Sweden is known for. This album's sound is not unlike many of the previous albums, although heavier. This is the first album in which HammerFall tunes their guitars down a full step down as opposed to the usual half-step they've been using on previous albums...

"'Infected' may not change the metal landscape, but it's a healthy creative leap forward for its makers." If any band can be accused of being stuck in its ways, it's Hammerfall. Emerging from Sweden in the mid-to-late '90s well before the modern power metal movement reached its saturation point across the Old World, their game plan has defined consistency...

With their eighth album, Infected, HammerFall's career stands on the edge of a knife, and some fans may not be happy. This is the first album without their mascot Hector gracing the cover; that may be shocking enough for some. Also, they have abandoned their long time relationship with producer Charlie Bauerfeind, opting to take matters into their own hands. Founder Oscar Dronjak and guitarist Pontus Nogren are assisted by James Michael (Scorpions, Motley Crue, Sixx: A.M.) as co-producer...

Despite being the butt of a lot of the heavy metal world's jokes, the power metal genre has been going strong for over two decades, and Sweden's HammerFall has been one of forerunners of the genre almost two decades and eight studio releases into the game. Their latest album "Infected" has seen the band make a couple of changes, firstly replacing long time producer Charlie Bauerfiend with Meat Loaf and Motley Crue knob-twiddler James Michael...
