People never believe this, but writing album reviews can actually be painful. Yes, painful, I say! Take this here Henry Rollins double- disc offering of spoken word. I thought, "Hell, yes, I want to review it! Henry's the man! Have you seen his tattooz? He must be cool! I heard he used to be in some band called Black Fag or something..." But seriously, folks, I know Henry, and I know Henry's spoken word, and this ain't Henry...

(yeah, so it's not music...calm down)
This 2-CD set is Rollins newest offering in his series of spoken

TODAY, CIVILISATION IS CRUMBLING around us. Humanity is decaying, brought almost to its knees by indulgence, sloth, stupidity, ugliness, smallness and weak-thinking. They are dragging the spirit of the |bermensch into the dirt. So what can a poor boy do, except to sing for a rock'n'roll band? Or better still, rant about all of the above in public.
Smashing bloke, though, our Henry...

Powering thru two discs' worth of songs from both lineups of the Rollins Band, The Only Way to Know for Sure is a tight, focused live record that easily overshadows not only Rollins Band's early live output, but also the last two studio records. The live version of songs from Get Some Go Again and Nice are more powerful and meaty than their somewhat clean studio versions, and the new Rollins Band puts a little more muscle into some old material like "Low So" and "Disconnect...
