Kelly Lee Evans' debut album from the first few notes is refreshingly optimistic, or so it seems. Her voice is deep and soulful, but surprisingly sweet and clear against a backdrop of some rather poignant lyrics. She sounds like she's smiling while she's singing, even in some of the darker tracks .She uses a common device of controlling the pace of the song with her clear and powerful voice, which has elements of Des'ree, almost a bit Sade-sounding at times, but a younger, sweeter version...
