Do you like your metal theatrical and over the top? Do you like your vocalist coated in corpsepaint and with a full octave range that allows him to sound like Bruce Dickinson or James Hetfield at will? Then King Diamond, wrapped in tattered shrouds, is just the band for you...

Sound: The music isn't perfectly recorded, but it is good enough to hear the different instruments. 5 of the songs are part of a storyline about a portrait and a girl. The songs are: The Candle, an amazing song starting with tubular bell sounds and an organ solo. The Jonah, a slower, darker song that with a truly amazing solo. The Portrait, starting with creepy vocals and furthering the story on, although it doesn't make all that much sense...

Sound: This CD was released in 1989, a year after the masterpeice "Them" and continues the horror story. King Diamond are well respected in the black/horror/ metal genre and this album has some killer tracks to help reinforce their status as one of the best metal bands of all time. This is the 4th album released by King Diamond and was created to follow the impressive 220,000 album sales that "Them" generated in the USA alone...

Sound: The Album is a concept album about a Man his Girlfriend, a twisted Puppet Master and lots of Christmas. The album starts with Midnight, a short yet dark and atmospheric song featuring an organ sound and sets the theme for the album. Then there is The Puppet Master and Magic where this man meets Victoria, and fall in love almost immediately. One year later at Christmas Victoria goes missing and King sets off to find her, met by the sight of The Puppet Masters wife killing a homeless.....

Sound: King Diamond once again brings us a beautiful masterpiece. Andy La Rocque and Mike Wead's solos are simply amazing. There's atleast 2 solos in every song. The drums are outstanding, double bass rumbling along with the powerful guitars and topped off by King D's amazing vocals. They even have a guest singer on some of the songs, and she simply just adds more harmony ontop of the amazing blend. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics in the album are typical King Dish lyrics...

Sound: As with most King Diamond albums this album features a storyline. Its about a necklace called 'The Eye', of which when looked straight into takes you back to see everything the eye has seen. It talks about the Torture of Jeanne Dibbasson and her execution, followed by a story about Madeleine, who joins a convent, and is seduced by Father David, whom dies the next day. Father Picard arrives and rapes some of the nuns and has them participate in rituals, by which they all slowly go insane...

Sound: King really delivers with this one. From dark, haunting melodies to riffs that you can't help but headbang to, Abigail is a powerhouse of a concept album. Abigail tells the story about a young couple, Miriam Natias and Jonathan La'Fey, who move into an old mansion that La'Fey inherited. It takes place in the summer of 1845. At their arrival they are warned by seven horsemen not to move into the house because if they do "18 will become 9...

Sound: "Them", being personally one of King Diamond's most inspired works, is a treasure trove of metal riffs and a plethora of bewitching solos (don't worry I'll get to the vocals later), the guitar work really shines. Also, credit should go to Mikkey Dee for supplying this album with some really great percussion, undoubtedly the best drumming on any King Diamond record...

Sound: The sound on King Diamond's Best Of CD is great. It's basically the greatest songs since the beginning of King Diamond. It doesn't have any Mercyful Fate stuff on it, but it sounds much heavier. Andy Laroque has about 2 shredding solos in each song, which fit perfectly...
