"The only great cheese that oozes from 'KOM XIV' is from all the vulnerabilities exposed from a band that used to be one of the best in the business." This brings me no joy to say, for I have truly never uttered these words to any other band before, even if I felt it in my "heart of steel." If there was ever a sign that a band should hang it up and retire to other endeavors - it would be when you try to justify any reason on Odin's green Valhalla why you need to tinker with an already perfect...

"From the onset, Joey's bass buzzes louder than an electric razor to Odin's balls. The relentless 'crash of the bumble bee' continues for the entirety of the album, drowning out almost every other member..." Over the years, Manowar has the distinction of being both rabidly loved and utterly hated. There is little in between the two battle lines. You either raise your hands clasped at the wrists ready to die for metal or you leave the hall with the rest of the posers...

Sound: Right, being a big Manowar fan I must admit that on this album the recording is not as up to scratch as it should be. Sometimes there seems to be a high pitched beep, which has something to do with the recording. Apart from that manowar are on form! Some of their songs seem to be a bit faster on this album then on the previous album (Into Glory Ride). They seem to be more balls out this time, with intensly fast sometimes blusy solos from Ross The Boss...

Sound: On this album you get your raw powered true metal and then you get more of a classical and even operatic outings. The recording quality on this record is brilliant but with today's technology what do you expect. Although there seems to be some clitches this album is more than worth getting (as long as your a Manowar fan). For someone new to manowar though I would suggest something else, unless you like a little classical thrown in...

Sound: For the fans of German metal band Manowar the release of their new album Gods Of War was the most important event of 2007. The album was due to be out on the 23 February in Germany (26 February for the rest of Europe and 3 April for the USA/Canada) and there were people looking for it on the internet since the beginning of the year. But the band guided their art like real warriors, saving the mystery around it to the release date...

Up until March this year, it had been over 15 years since the self-proclaimed "Kings of Metal" Manowar graced UK stages with their presence. They then played a one off show, quite fittingly in Birmingham, the birth place of heavy metal as we know it. Spurred on the positive response this one off show received, and by the cries of hardened metal heads across the country for the mighty Manowar to come to their town and show them exactly why they are the Kings of Metal...

The latest from true metal heroes Manowar, Thunder In The Sky, is an EP released to wet your metal appetite for the forthcoming full-length Hammer Of The Gods to be released later in 2009. This EP is the beginning of a introduction to 'The Asgard Saga,' Manowar's fantasy adventure created in collaboration with Germany's best-selling author, Wolfgang Hohlbein. More important, it's a glimpse of Manowar's return to their 'true' heavy metal heritage after the dismal Gods Of War in 2007...

Sound: This is the album that started it all. Before they became the loudest band in the world, toured the world and started their own metal festival and DVD series, this New York band. This album features Donnie Hamzik on drums, who was not long after replaced by Scott Colombus to create the classic line-up of Eric Adams, Ross the Boss, Joey DeMaio and Scott Columbus. Donnie seems to play with more groove and swing than the later drummers...

Sound: Manowar has always been one of my favorite bands. This CD is one of the best Manowar albums I have. The album starts by the song "All Men Play on 10" that is some kind of rap metal. It's maybe the worst song on this album. Second track, "Animals" is punk-like song and it sounds good. After these two first tracks begins power metal section. "Thor (The Powerhead)", "Mountains", title track "Sign of the Hammer" and "The Oath" are one of the earliest power metal songs ever...
