The Mattson 2 are groovy, are the kids still saying that? Groovy? Who cares, the kids are all fucking dicks, they always have been. I know I was. The Mattson 2 on the other hand, well they are smooth playing, sensual, well coifed guitar gods. As a fan of mainly Punk Rock, Folk and Alternative music, I was skeptical about reviewing an instrumental jazz tinged surf rock record. Modern music today is defined by dynamic vocals and lyrics where sometimes the power of the instruments can be lost.
