Motionless In White Reviews

Avg. Customer Rating:

When Motionless in White released their debut album Creatures back in 2010, it was actually quite well-received. A mix of metalcore, gothic rock/metal, and tinges of industrial music was pretty cool back then and led to a lot of positive experimentation. However, with THIS album, you just have to wonder: "what were they thinking?" Infamous has a lot of problems; however, lucky for you, I wrote down a list of its issues in my Handy Dandy Notebook! So what makes Infamous such a barrage of trash...

Release Date: November 13th, 2012 Motionless In White has been making waves in the scene lately. Their debut album Creatures was praised for it's unique, creepy atmosphere throughout the album, demonstrating that you can bring something new to the hardcore scene. Having finished Warped Tour this year and a headlining tour coming up, Motionless In White seem to have no intention of stopping. Infamous is Motionless In White's sophomore album and second for Fearless Records...

Sound: Motionless in White completely broke off into a tangent from all of the stereotypical Metalcore/Post-Hardcore scene. Utilizing a synthesizer, syn choirs and other eerie atmospheric effects. The drums combined with the guitar are completely brutal, while still being classified (loosely) into the Metalcore genre. The only downside I can think of is the lack of changing tone and ambiance; It often seems like the guitars simply play open-fretted notes or the same note many times...

Release Date: October 12, 2010 Motionless in White, although this being their debut studio album, has been a band for over six years, releasing a few EPs and singles here and there. Let's be honest: Anyone who has listened to their previous efforts and singles has noticed that they were quite immature with their lyrics, whether it be the clearly depicted song, "Santa's Pissed," or most of the songs on their first EP...

To break the mold of mediocrity in the world of metal, it now takes more than just a gimmick. In a sea of breakdowns, blast beats, and generic riffs, there is always real pressure on upcoming bands to raise the standard. Sure, in its inception, adding electronic instrumentation to metal seemed like a grand idea. Releases like Someday Came Suddenly gained a lot of attention by going against the normal, but now it is a commonplace practice...

Sound: The sound that Motionless In White holds a very unique value, it separates itself from the somewhat common, generic Metalcore sound and serves as a signature sound. This is more than an "avant garde" or "experimental" attempt, it is an authentic, and well structured album. From the early release of "The Whorror", you can see MIW's growth as musicians, and therefore the development in their signature sound...
