By nature, heavy metal isn't a shiny happy genre, but the headbangers in America's breadbasket have the gloomy game on lock (Morrissey, eat your vegetarian heart out). Is it the weather? The winter drags, and it has snowed as late as May in downstate Illinois. Perhaps it's the endless void along highways like Indiana's I-65, which beg you to pull over for a dish of white rice just to liven things up...

Don't let it stop you from checking them out. The eight-man, Cleveland (rocks) group has fury and its share of attention-grabbing elements at a time when it's easy to think that all the stones have been rolled in heavy music...

Sound: The sound of Mushroomhead's first self-titled album was more original than the other albums. I love their wide range of influences on all their albums, especially this one. They mix more media with music. And they mix more electric keyboards and synthesizers with hard rock. And the dual vocals give the sound more diversity. The riffs of the guitars where simple yet complex. The drumming did it's job in creating the beat for each sound...

Sound: This is Mushroomhead's sophmore release. This sound didn't have the same originality as their first, but it was damn close. The sound and music was very impressive, very Mushroomhead-like. They did a really good job of combining industrial metal, rap, techno, and classical. // 10 Lyrics and Singing: My overall impression of the lyrics is this: These lyrics are even better than the lyrics off their first release. They really fit with the mood of the music...
