It seemed like a promising idea: Inspired by the late great guitarist Lenny Breau, Randy Bachman sheds his rock 'n' roll skin and revisits his jazz roots. Unfortunately, the idea falls well short of its potential. Bachman, of course, can make his six-string sing, but the 60-year-old veteran has never been an expressive vocalist.
