Roger Waters Reviews

Sound: The sound overall was really well done, I do believe it was recorded with quadrophonic sound so it sounds fantastic on a good system, where Pros and cons of hitch-hiking was recorded as holophonics which is meant for headphones. Jeff Beck played guitar on this album, very good work on it. I never really got into Jeff Beck, but he helps bring Waters' album to life here...

Sound: This album is great for the Opera fan. Whilst I find Ca Ira an absolutely gorgeous piece of music, if you buy it merely because you are a hardcore Pink Floyd fan you may be disapointed. The score is very melodious yet, at times, vaguely heavy (almost rockish). Waters wrote often using fugues (a musical term for when one person is singing and another singer comes in with a different melody) between the bass-baritone and the tenor, and even the choirs...

Summary: Guten Abend meiner Damen und Herren ha ha ha ha!! Willkomen in Konigsburg ha ha ha ha!! 11 of 11 thought this review was well written As one quarter of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters built his legend around crafting albums tied together by grandiose thematic ideas, philosophical lyrics, and spectacular sonic experimentation...

It would be hard to improve on the description of The Wall offered by the editor of Uncut recently in his "Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before" column. "An impossibly miserable psychodrama, four sides of groaning self-pity, morbid pessimism and relentless musical hogwash, "Allan Jones wrote in describing Pink Floyd's original 1979 studio recording. And nothing had improved when Waters performed the work live at the Berlin Wall on July 21, 1990...

Roger Waters ? Earls Court May12th It has been a busy week for Roger Waters. His British tour kicked off in Manchester last Monday, and by Thursday he found himself sharing a Barbican bill with his old Pink Floyd bandmates at a Syd Barrett tribute show. Waters, it should be noted, was not onstage at the same time as his old colleagues...

Roger Waters: so often portrayed as the miserable one who talked his way out of Pink Floyd. Therefore, this double live album is his chance to set the record straight so to speak by putting his Floyd compositions alongside his solo work to form a grand, unified whole. Does it work? Sort of...

Sound: I am a big Pink Floyd fan, but this album is terrible. I don't really like many of Roger Waters solo projects to begin with, but I was told that this is different. It is very strange, and I can't really make much sense of it. Maybe I need to listen to it again but I don't like it, it is awful. If you want something by Roger Waters get the Pink Floyd The Wall album it was mostly written by Roger Waters and it is a very good album...

Sound: The music is the best of Roger Water's solo albums. Eric Clapton guests in the albulm as the lead guitar of course. Eric is at his best with a lot of blues type guitar playing and some hard jazzy stuff too. The album is about a dream that a man has and the songs are named by the time during the night that the part of the dream occurred...

In which Waters's wheelchair-bound version of the deaf, dumb, and blind boy learns to control the world's computers with his cordless phone, then simulates impending nuclear holocaust just to scare the shit out of the powers that be...
