Sound: This song implocates the more heavy, modern Shinedown we all know. You don't exactly get that old-school vibe you got in the majority of "Us And Them" in this one song. Which isn't bad, just kind of a letdown for those of you expecting a guitar solo like the one in "Save Me". Well, you won't find a guiar solo in the lead representative of their third effort "The Sound of Madness"...

4 years after their commercially successful endeavour, The Sound of Madness, Jacksonville, Florida's melody-makers Shinedown are back with their latest effort titled Amaryllis. Once again produced by Rob Cavallo (who handled the production reigns on their last effort), Amaryllis picks up where TSOM left off...

Sound: This is a live album by Shinedown with two parts. The First is an electric version of their songs. It features 17 songs. There is also an accompanying live DVD included. This album was recorded on their Carnival Of Madness tour. The album starts off with a short intro and then "The Sound Of Madness" and finishes off with "Second Change", with a great song line up in between. The Second part is what I found most intriguing...

Sound: If you've tuned into Modern or Active Rock radio in the last few years, you're probably already familiar with Shinedown. The Florida band's contagious brand of Melodic-Rock has been a playlist staple ever since they signed with Atlantic Records and released their debut album, Leave A Whisper in 2003. Songs like ".45," "I Dare You," and "Save Me" have not just won over radio station programmers...

Sound: In a word: great. Shinedowns original EP was a little sketchy, so I was doubful, but after bying the cd and listening to it for close to a year straight, I love this band. Good guitar, great singer, good drummer, good bassist what else can you ask for? // 10 Lyrics and Singing: Great lyrics. The lyrics mostly sound like songs I write, only better. They speak to me. The music and lyrics go awósome together. Wich is more I can say for alot of "alternative" bands...

Sound: Since 2002, when Shinedown formed, they have experienced great success for both their studio albums and a reputation for putting on a great live show. Their music has historically been fairly straightforward hard rock, but has occasionally been called alternative rock, alt metal and post grunge. Personally, I think they sound just like a fairly standard rock band. The new album, "Amaryllis", doesn't really depart from their sound...

Summary: How about a better version of this, please? There are actually a myriad of reasons why so many people expected Amaryllis to be a step backwards for Shinedown. One such reason was the anticipated letdown following the commercial success of The Sound of Madness. Another was the disappointing lead single 'Bully', which possessed little more than a forgettable hook and juvenile-sounding lyrics. Then there is the simple fact that mainstream hard-rock groups don't have a long shelf life...

Sound: Great sound, a little different from the first album. You can hear a good difference in "Save Me." The sound throughout this CD is all around pretty damn good. I you would listen to the last cd and this one you'd know theres more to this new one. // 9 Lyrics and Singing: These lyrics kick ass! They all just seem to fit really nicelty with each of the different songs. Flows great, has some good meaning, and is reflectable...
