Skillet Concert Tickets

Skillet is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, consisting of all Christian members. Skillet formed in 1996 with two members: John Cooper, former vocalist for Tennessee progressive rock band Seraph, and Ken Steorts, former guitarist for Urgent Cry. The two bands met through touring together, but those bands disbanded soon after, so John and Ken's pastor encouraged them to form their own band as a side-project. Buy 'Rise' at: Skillet are back after four years with a new album titled Rise?. Their last album Awake was recently certified platinum for sales in excess of one million copies in the US, and now there seems to be massive momentum behind this new release.?? For me it's always seemed as though Skillet have been around for ages, releasing quality album after album...

Release Date: June 25 2013 During the whole time I've been reviewing albums, and listening to a lot of music, there are bands I've come across and bought albums from that are quite popular and are years into their careers, but I just know nothing about them. Recently this year, I was introduced to a lot of bands who could fall into that category for me...

There is no introduction that one could write that would be sufficient in setting the stage for the band that is Skillet. Few other bands have reached the platform that Skillet rests their broken drum sticks and aching guitars. Frontman John Cooper has been leading the band since '96 and was joined by his bride in '99 along with a few friends along the way to create an iconic rock band in both the Christian and secular scenes...

I'm not sure why, exactly, I decided to listen to Skillet's new LP, . Most likely, I think it was as some sort of catharsis, forcing myself to realize Skillet is no longer the band I loved. I was in middle school and freshman year of high school not too long ago, and I was your standard gangly, pubescent kid wandering around aimlessly in the T-shirt and blasting KoRn through cheap Apple earbuds. With that profile inevitably came Skillet's (or at least the singles)...

Given the current musical climate, bands like Skillet are few and far between. Debuting in 1996, John Cooper and company have stayed in the game for the long haul, becoming one of the biggest acts in their market with an ever-growing fanbase. But in reality, it wasn't until 2006's Comatose that Skillet became the household name they are today, and the last seven years have seen the band operating within their specific niche, even when the band's lineup has changed considerably (most recently...

Artist: Skillet Album: Rise Label: Atlantic Records Release Date: 06.25.13 Reviewer: Lee Brown Tracklisting: Perhaps the best kept secret in the music world last year was that Skillet became one of only three bands to achieve platinum status. For a band that released their first album in 1996 and has spent most of their career in the niche Christian rock market, this is quite a statement to make...

I haven't done one of these in a long time, but I could not resist talking to you about the listening experience I had over the weekend regarding Skillet's upcoming release. After nearly four years of waiting Skillet has finally decided to Rise. Okay, I got my pun quota out of the way, so let's talk about this. I'm no different than most of our readers, really. I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like. I play favorites...

Sound: Skillet return with the hardcore album "Collide" a raw album which brings out Skillet's aggressive side. The production at times could of been better, when I sometimes feel the lead guitar can't be heard well enough. But it has such a raw aggression, driven by some fantastic drumming, you can't help but smile. // 8 Lyrics and Singing: When it comes to lyrics, John Cooper knows how to effect someone. His lyrics can be very dark, but sometimes very passionate. He's done himself well here...

Sound: Most people describe Skillet's latest effort, Comatose, as a fusion of their last two CDs: Collide and Alien Youth. But it's so much more than that. This symphonic rock album will blow your mind with it's sheer professionalism and crystal clean sound (that they keep live w/the best show ever). Think Metallica vocals and bass meet Evanescence sound effects meet shred guitar. If you're trying to picture it, don't rack your brain, just by the album...
