Social Distortion Concert Tickets

Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Mike Ness, guitarist Jonny Wickersham, bassist Brent Harding and drummer David Hidalgo, Jr. Social Distortion temporarily disbanded in 1985, due to frontman Ness' drug addiction and troubles with the law, which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers, that lasted for two years. Social Distortion Reviews

Sound: I'd never heard Social D until I heard "Reach For The Sky" on the radio. I thought it was a good song and I wanted the album, which wasn't out yet. I kind of forgot about it but then I heard their second single "Don't Take Me For Granted" and I made myself go out and buy it. This album is packed with emotion as the band mourns the loss of their guitarist which is evident on the best tracks...

Sound: When I first listened to the album, I thought it had a pretty sweet guitar sound to it. It has a very different sound compared to the other music albums that I own from other bands. The sound in this album is very, how do I say it, mellow. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing. The distorted sound of the chords being played is nice too. // 8 Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics. If there's one thing that pops into my mind in this album for lyrics, it's definitely the song "Story of my Life"...

Sound: The sound is great. Social D is one of the best bands out there and this is probably going to be the best greatest hits albums ever, including popular songs such as "Mommy's Little Monster" (from their debut album 1983's "Mommy's Little Monster"), "Ball and Chain", "Story of My Life" (both from their 1990 self-titled album), "I Was Wrong" (from 1996's "White Light, White Heat, White Trash"), "Prison Bound" (from 1989's "Prison Bound"), and many more spanning their 20+ year career...

Sound: It's their first LP since 2004. It's their first album issued by Epitaph. Though it would be only fitting, it's not the first release by Social Distortion to dig up punk rock roots and spray it all over 40 minutes of material. Having been created in 2006, Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes is almost a legend in itself. The record tore through four different drummers (including Atom Willard) and forced singer/guitarist Mike Ness to toy with different sounds and influences...

Sound: My aunt got me into this band saying that I wanted to hear what punk rock sounded like and this band was what started me. It makes you want to hear more of them. There is distortion in every song on this album, but the music is usually softer than what you'd think. A couple of the songs start with the drums tapping the top hat and then bringing in the guitars and bass...

Sound: With their fourth album, Social Distortion finally struck the perfect note between the aggression of hardcore punk and anguish of classic country and rockabilly. Key tracks Bad Luck and Born to Lose are prime examples of this balance, with punk-like song structures but with an overall country feel, taken to a new level by the distinct howl of singer/guitarist Mike Nes...

Last time I saw Social Distortion live was in LA in 2004, and I've been looking forward to the next opportunity ever since. The show sold out two months in advance, and while I make my way inside Shepherd's Bush Empire, I wonder where this two-thousand-strong punk crowd (and I don't mean only teenagers in trendy-alternative Misfits tops) hides for the rest of the week. Having The Bones as a support act for a Social Distortion gig is a welcome bonus to an already top event...

After 25 years, Mike Ness and his revolving brigade of misfits known as Social Distortion have been cleaning their blue suede shoes and rupturing our eardrums with their rough mix of punk, country, rockabilly and blues inspired tunes...

Seven years can do more than just a handful of things to a man. With Social Distortion crawling out of the hole it has been buried in since 2004's Sex, Love, and Rock 'n' Roll, 2011 brings the seedy underbelly of punk a revival of all its sub-genre's wrapped up under the punk ethos with Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes...
