Indie/art/hipster rock is starting to eat itself, and throwback rock is coming back, so as well as being old-school impressive, The Parlor Mob's debut is deliciously timely. Nice buzzy rock riffs, passionate soloing and bluesy patches abound here, and a clear nod to, say, 1974 gives this music a familiar, lived-in feel. Very versatile in their appropriation of bygone style(s), TPM can come fast, but rather enjoys taking time (check Tide of Tears)...
