Three Days Grace Reviews

Release Date: June 13th, 2006 Stepping out of your comfort zone can be a real great thing. For the longest time, I was one a rather close-minded person when it came to my music tastes. I only stayed within a couple of genres, because I knew that's what I liked. It's a quite silly thought now that I go back and think about it, but the last few years, I've been expanding my tastes greatly and listening to bands / artists that I should've been listening to for years...

Sound: Since the band's debut release in 2003, Three Days Grace has seemed to divide audiences quite strongly, with one side proclaiming their passionate take on rock and the other testifying that the band's songs are too simplistic and mediocre. The interesting thing is that these groups are both a little bit right...

Sound: I'd heard a couple songs by TDG when I picked up this album. What I'd heard impressed me, so I expected some decent rock from their debut (where better to start than the beginning?) What I heart blew my mind. There's almost nothing special about the album... But when you hear it, EVERYTHING is special. You can't just put it into words. The blast of the barre chords, the perfect timing of the drums, the amazing vocals by Adam Gontier.....

Sound: Compared two the band's previous two albums, "Life Starts Now" is significantly more technically sound. In many of the tracks, Three Days Grace breaks away from their cliche power chord riffs and ventures into many different melodies, and this album is even riddled with guitar solos, one of which is quite technical. All of the instrumental work is quite a bit more complex this time around...

At this point in time if you don't know who Three Days Grace is, you are seriously deprived of some fantastiko tunage! This record I speak of is the third release from one of the best bands out of Canada. I have been neglecting the music on my favourites list because there are so many newbs to discover out there. This band has come a long way since I saw them live at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto back in the day...
