Vanna Concert Tickets

Vanna is a band from Boston, Massachusetts. They formed in December 2004 with Evan Pharmakis and Nick Lambert and recorded their first demo in a dorm room at MassArt using a drum Machine. Soon they recruited drummer Brandon Davis (who at the time was playing guitar for the band Therefore I Am), bassist Shawn Marquis, and vocalist Joe Bragel. Vanna Reviews

Release Date: June 17, 2014 Let me preface this review by saying that I have loved Vanna since the very first time I was introduced to them. "We Ate the Horse You Rode in on" has the second most plays counted on my iTunes. I have seen this band too many times to count, and have met every member and had fantastic experiences talking to them. I look up to them as musicians, especially Sean Marquis, their bassist...

Some bands shouldn't use clean vocals, and Boston's Vanna are one of them. The opening title track on their fifth album (and Pure Noise debut) is a grinding blast of pure rage, Davey Muise's genuinely unhinged-sounding vocals perched atop jagged noisecore riffs. It promises a hate-blast of an album aimed straight at fans of bands like Cloak/Dagger or Unsane, with extra metal...

Release Date: March 19, 2013 With their most recent effort, it's clear that Vanna is really trying to push the boundaries of most of the music in their scene. The 'post-hardcore' label they've given themselves would generally either lump them into one of two completely different groups of artists. The first and probably less accurate of those groups would be the one consisting of Touche Amore and Pianos Become the Teeth...

Since music was music there has been the concept album; an album revolving around a specific theme/idea. And most notable examples hail from the rock genre...

The more melodic side of hardcore music can be a refuge for the more emotive yet hardcore-driven musicians. Its ability to translate meaningful lyrics while molded with the passion of heavy music makes it very attractive, and yet so many bands don't quite get the formula down. Fortunately, Vanna have come a long way since their dorm room days...

Release Date: June 21, 2011 It's been a bumpy road for Vanna the past two years. Since their 2009 sophomore effort, A New Hope, the band has experienced what could have been crippling changes. Parting ways with vocalist Chris Preece, they picked up Davey Muise (of Seeker Destroyer) as his replacement. Following this alteration, they switched from their home at Epitaph Records to a place at Artery Recordings...

2011 finds post-hardcore quintet Vanna on the far side of changes that could have scuttled a lesser band. They left their former home at Epitaph Records right around the same time that their original lead singer, Chris Preece, decided to leave the band. Rather than confuse things, this transformation seems to have focused Vanna's attack, if their latest full-length, And They Came Baring Bones, is any indication...

After six years, three EP's, and two full-length releases, one would think that a band at this point would have grown in maturity and progressed in style. But unfortunately, the latest release by Boston, MA metalcore group Vanna falls short of what is expected from a band this long in existence. With the same youthful and angsty feel, it seems that they have never truly left the MassArt dorm rooms from which they originated...

This 12 song cd starts out with great chant and a great metal hardcore beat then leads right into a not so impressive singing indie part. Then the rest of the songs make up for the first one, They are hardcore some of the breakdown are great, chuggy and intense and then some are weak. They remind me a lot of Norma Jean. I think this cd is a little to different for me. but please check them out for your self at www.myspace.com/vanna
