Yardbirds Concert Tickets

The Yardbirds are mostly known to the casual rock fan as the starting point for three of the greatest British rock guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Undoubtedly, these three figures did much to shape the group’s sound, but throughout their career, the Yardbirds were very much a unit, albeit a rather unstable one. And they were truly one of the great rock bands; one whose contributions went far beyond the scope of their half dozen or so mid-’60s hits (“For Your Love,” “Heart Full of Soul... The Yardbirds' repertoire hasbeen belted out in manya local tavern for the past half-century- so who can begrudgefounder members Chris Dreja(guitar) and Jim McCarty(drums) the right to play theAmerican music-hall circuitwith three younger recruits? The original twosome rightlymaintain strict quality control,so what we have here areworkmanlike-to-inspiredrenditions of Heart Full Of Soul,Over Under Sideways Down,For Your Love and HappeningsTen Years Time Ago, alongsidesome lesser-known efforts...

Easy Action deserves an award for perseverance in the face of impossible odds, taking three years to realise the DVD of 2008's historic MC5/Primal Scream Meltdown double-header, spending two years longer putting together this ultimate collection of aural Yardbirds documentation; they've used microsurgery where necessary to graft sections together and spice up ancient recordings...

Sound: Roger The Engineer is a varied album. The Yardbirds were previously a blues act, but were at this point experimenting. The early psychedelic style, fresh and new in 1966, colors the album. Middle Eastern influence is all over Jeff Beck's playing. Weird little bits of drugged up dream music like the dreary "Turn Into Earth" really dazzle and daze. The odd little instrumental "Hot House Of Omagarashid" is pure silliness. Blues is not gone from their vocabulary here, however...

Had Led Zeppelin never happened then 1967's Little Games, The Yardbirds' final album, produced by pop-master Mickie Most, would be no more than a footnote. Its original 10 tracks have never been rated as the blues pioneers' best, due to their overwhelmingly commercial nature. It is, however, the only available album of the Jimmy Page-led quartet, teaming him with Keith Relf, Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja...

On 180 gram vinyl. "This limited re-release of a classic album by the band that fostered the careers of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page features a faithful recreation of the original LP sleeve, original packaging, and original liner notes. Roger the Engineer was The Yardbird's first real studio album, cut in 1966, yet was never initially released in the U.S. in its original form...

Same as the recently released Earmark LP. "Newly discovered concert recording, ca. 1964, featuring Eric Clapton. About as rare -- and explosive -- as an appearance by your favorite comet, here's a startling, never-before released 1964 live set by the classic Yardbirds lineup that included their legendary guitarist Eric Clapton. Blazing through a scintillating, sweat-drenched night of gritty British R&B;, the Yardbirds prove once again why they've always been a rock 'n roll band for the ages.
